MG your plasterboard shouldn't need plastering. Either get the tape to cover the joins or polyfilla the gaps up, then using lining paper and either paint over or wall paper on top.

I wanna stay here - so unless the powers that be ask me to move here I stay.

Does that mean I have to count the mortgage as a HUGE!!!!! debt??? Cos that is pretty depressing going from DF to £126000 overnight:eek:

    Cup of coffee please!!!!

Technically, yes. But it is a different kind so don't panic! See it as increasing your net worth all the time.

I been following the ups and downs of lately but not been able to read every single post. There is nothing much I can say that haven't been said before so I will just join the commiserations and celebrations. :( :T

Busy day today. Ex will have DD and during that I need to get comfortable casual shoes, some currency and converter (can't for the life of me find the one I took to France with me in summer). I am off to Switzerland tomorrow :j . I really need to study in the evenings so no logging on to the hotel wifi in the evenings :naughty:

Have great time! As to evenings - when we went skiing last Feb I had only one hour writing time in the evening. Worked very well - somehow I was much more focused and productive (rather than busy). During the day I had great fun on the slopes.

Hair appointment has been moved, so I'm going to focus on making the house a little less chaotic as the cleaner has texted to say she is coming on Tuesday (when the plasterer will probably still be here and the utility floor will be started). Two waterproof tops are in the WM with tech wash to clean and I will then reproof as it looks like a good drying day (bright and breezy). Tomorrow will be paperwork and outdoor stuff as the plasterer will hopefully be here.

Hex - does you OH have any ideas about plastering over distemper? It looks as if it might be a problem but I really don't want to have to have the ceilings reboarded. They currently have polycell drippy stuff on them that is peeling, hence wanting them redone. I have a suspicion that the best thing to do may be to fill them and paint with a thick filler-type paint...

MG - someone once told me that plastering is like icing a cake (royal icing I guess) so I'm sure you can manage, although vandfc's idea seems sensible :-) be creative and keep remembering the opportunity cost.

Hi Greenbee - he says you need to scrape the distemper off. You should then be able to sand and cover with one of those polycell cover all type paints.

Madame Souk - went to the local Red Cross Charity Shop - because I can get sewing needles there and

..................... they had lots pf fabric at a pound a pieces - great twills and tweeds - got enough for a tailored jacket, three pencil skirts and a dress. OMG!!! Eva Peron a Gogo!!! - and only spent a fiver.

But I have been a good girl and put the fabric away until I have finished the sofa.

    Waheyyyyyy

You need to get an HGV with a freezer unit in the back. It's called refrigerated transport.
