I been following the ups and downs of lately but not been able to read every single post. There is nothing much I can say that haven't been said before so I will just join the commiserations and celebrations.
:T
Busy day today. Ex will have DD and during that I need to get comfortable casual shoes, some currency and converter (can't for the life of me find the one I took to France with me in summer). I am off to Switzerland tomorrow :j . I really need to study in the evenings so no logging on to the hotel wifi in the evenings"Everything will be alright in the end. Does that mean I have to count the mortgage as a HUGE!!!!! debt??? Cos that is pretty depressing going from DF to £126000 overnight:eek:
Cup of coffee please!!!!
MG
Well the mortgage is still a debt when all said and done. I always see it as a 'necessary'debt though so I dont count it in my debt free wanabee calculations.........is that just a state of denial:o ?? But I guess while you are working on getting that sorted in super fast time then you are still a DFW:)Be the change you want to see -with apologies to Gandhi

Souk - Deeply envious, I love them. I even pay full price for them! Have edited my original post for you.
MG - I agree with the logic that a mortgage is a debt. I have no credit card debt or anything but we have a monster of a mortgage so I am far from debt free.
Off to do some garden tidying in the sunshine. Need to work out where Henrietta Houdini Hen managed to escape last night, it cost me my last six eggs as a thank you to the neighbour who found her in his garden.
DH wants me to help with plastering by carrying buckets. First bedroom is finished and DS2 finally has his own room. Now need to sort DS1s bedroom, and removing the paper took the plaster off. Onwards and upwards, at least the plaster itself is cheapish and I am very lucky that DH can plaster.'If you have a garden and a library, you have everything you need' Marcus Tullius Cicero0 -
Can you lend me your OH Hex?? I have started putting up the stud walls for my toddlers new bedroom - will probably even be able to plasterboard myself - but I know I will not be able to plaster them.
What I need to do is scrounge myself a weekend plastering course LOL
Attention my Lovely Matrixettes - if you can spare your 15 minutes today there is a wee plea on t'other side.
And I have now dyed my hair and am heading back upstairs for a monster sewing session.

Lazy PJ day here so far - dh is away for weekend and kids aren't bothered in doing much (ds has a chest infection so not feeling much like going outdoors)
Sun is shining though so going to get started on some outside tidying/gardening and finishing painting front porch if I can get motivated.

Morning all. As OH is away I am alternating with study (reading) and DIY (radiator sanding). Me and cat are snuggled up with the spare duvet on the sofa, it's so nice. I've got to dye my hair too today, and was thinking of cutting my fringe myself. It looks terrible, but I want to let my hair grow out a bit after the terrible pre-wedding haircut I had! Might be too scared though. What if I cut it all wonky???

MG - he does get borrowed for plastering purposes quite a lot
but we are East Mids so no use for you sadly. We are lucky that my late FIL was a builder and my DH did his student summers with him so he can brick lay/plaster and other useful stuff despite never having worked at a trade. He is making my kitchen units from what is currently rough sawn oak that we bought in bulk a few years ago from e-bay :A You can see why it is worth us sacrificing his salary for a while to get the house finished, we bought a wreck with potential as well. There was a thing on Radio 4 the other day about 'grey gap years' which amused him a lot and gave him a line for his CV. I was mostly amused he was listening to Radio 4!
