    Congratulations Souk:D

I have to sign on today...but I still have a cunning plan which I am in the process of putting into action. I may also ask if I can attend a training course to get a PTLLS certificate and that way I can teach (I have been asked to mark wedding assignments but have been told I will need PTLLS), hoping to pick up free training as I am on the dole.

MG Fuji cameras all the way - I say that because they have great service. I bought a film camera before my trip to Oz in 2003 and it got used a lot, in 2005 I was in Italy and had bent down to take a photograph and someone shoved me so camera went skittering across the tarmac:mad: Didnt realise that it was bust so carried on using it and it was only when I wanted to take pics indoors in 2006 that I discovered it was broken. Took it to a local camera shop who charged me £10 to send it away for repair and then said it was unrepairable, took it then to Jessops (it was whilst I was in Jessops that I spotted my Fuji digital camera which was then bought for my social club business). Jessops sent the camera for repair but when it came back Fuji had replaced it for no charge:cool: Now that Fuji camera is lurking about my ex OH's place. Fuji cameras are ace, take great pics, easy to use. When looking for cameras use shops but then see if you can buy it online via Topcashback.

Congrats to Souk - you go lady :j:beer::j

Well done FW - have any of the papers run online discussions on the story and if so, could you use these to drive traffic to your blog???

MG, Picasa is free photo editing software. It is simple to use (well, I found my way around it ;)) and you can use it to lighten, sharpen, crop, etc your photos.

    Love to all, Thriftyxxx
  • Good afternoon & what an afternoon - I wonder just how many 'Congratulations' have been posted here over the past couple of days? (& commiserations, MG - so sorry for your loss, I don't want to even imagine how I'll feel when my gorgeous ginger boy moves over to the other side :()

Back to the congratulations - So many opportunities to notice the big good things; new jobs, anniversaries, new income, new wealth, etc. etc. And for the rest of us, who haven't had such obviously great big good things happen this week, let's take a moment and notice what small thing we can congratulate ourselves for.

For me - I'm sending myself congratulations on keeping a positive emotional state all week under some difficult circumstances. And the Universe sent a wonderful new supervisor for my work, someone who will enhance my performance. Yay! Congratulations to us all! :)

May you be safe. May you be happy. May you be healthy. May you live with your heart at ease.

lezzle might I say what a wonderful post and a wonderful idea.

My big congratulation goes to my DS. It was parents evening last night and to our delight he is above average in his reading and in maths doing some Year 2 work (he's in year 1). Considering they told me at the start of the year he was pretty much below average in most areas apart from maths I am chuffed to bits with him. They are happy to gear work around his interests (Iron Man and more Iron Man LOL) so get him to focus more and get him writing more. Proud parents here at Chez Bitsy. And congrats to my DD who has settled in really well into Nursery. First comments teacher made were "she's a bit stubborn isn't she" :o:o so we'll blame hubby for that one ;)

Congratulations for me? Well I've been slightly more productive than of late, have started making taggie blanket for friend so yay go me!

Congratulations to me for applying for more jobs and finding a new way to make money via network marketing only my devious way means that I won't part with any cash initially:D

Just been to sign on - this time handed over my UTR number which I have now received from the HMRC (the original one was given to my accountant so now I have a copy that I can keep). It seems that is what the decision makers are waiting for. My advisor was incensed about the 'fake' job that claimed to be permanent yet was self employed at £3.50 an hour plus commission. He did tell me that if I did a work trial anywhere that I should speak to the jobcentre and that I would get £3.50 a day for food plus extra for travel expenses. He agreed that the job was a fake and that he would ensure that other people are aware that it isnt as advertised.

Have 7 jobs to apply for this afternoon at Warwick Uni, applied for one at BCU earlier today which is a fixed term contract which suits me just fine.

Congratulations to me, I cleared a bag of rubbish from the living room - more to be done there so that I can start seeing the floor and the remainder of the sofa. Also need to list stuff on music magpie - can't get my head around Amazon.

Brilliant idea Lezzle. Congratulations to you for your positivity!!

And on a more personal note:
..... to dh for braving minor surgery to his foot without complaint (Yes, I know, but then he is a bloke!!)
.... to my daughter for managing a relentless workload with husband, home, teenage son, baby and horrendously heavy fulltime job - and still managing to smile.
.... to daughter-in-law for trying to cope with a move to a new town away from family, and friends and for bravely wiping away her tears and trying to make a new life for herself, husband and toddler.
.... and to me? Haven't done anything spectacular. I just try to support them all as best I can.

Full kudos, and rivers of cash, coming to you Firewalker
    Congrats on the job Souk

Cameras, there are some reasonable entry level ones on the Amazon bestsellers for £49 or so. Fuji Finepix L55 or the Kodak Sport C123 for example. Very little mark up on them for the store - best deals tend to be slightly older stock and bundles with case/card.
