  • So sorry about Boots, MG: that's a horrible thing to happen.

My dog has been in the vet's for a week tomorrow with some sort of weird anemia. I hope she comes back soon: the place is very quiet without her. :(

And as for Gadaffi....work then college means that I only just found out. Wow.

Wow, Souk. That's great news and must be a great relief. I did assume that your undies would be matching but it's nice to be sure

    What a day!
But how can you know what you want till you get what you want and you see if you like it?

Hope you have a great weekend to celebrate.

I have to pack today as we are off to the Yorkshire Dales for a week in the morning. Won't have internet so after last couple of exciting days a bit apprehensive about whether you will all still be here when I get back:rotfl:

Late start this morning - both kids in my bed from early but I think they are on their way to acceptance after we spent an hour or talking about the funny things all our past cats used to do.

I popped little lady Cat "Puss" into bed with DS1 last night - I figured they could both do with the company. DS1 said she sat and "purred him to sleep" so I am sure she was a comfort.

Oh Boy - reading the posts of the last few days!!! Anyone new would go running for the hills :D But I appreciate each and every one who posted (and those who are lurking and don't post so often) - being able to share good and bad news without judgement is one of the very special things about this thread.

Souk - "Bravo Sweetie" - I am pleased beyond pleased for you. In my case because (although you know how much I love my boys) through you I get to live the "Fabulous" single life a little. Brilliant news on your next perfect job though.

Much to think about from the last couple of days - including the realisation that the things we learn and share on here are not the "norm" - meaning that the majority of people simply don't know the stuff we take as "natural" now.

Did the "bread-a-nomics" calculation for a journalist yesterday and they were stunned to see that by changing to actually USING their bread maker instead of looking at it that they could save enough over a year to pay off their Credit Card
    a mini light-bulb moment I think.

As for what we should use the £200 for??? Would it be really selfish to say £125 as a leaf off our mortgage tree and then the rest to buy a decent camera so that I can take better pictures for the blog?

That would mean that DS1 inherits my little Flip type video camera for his animation projects? What would £75 buy me in camera anyways? - suggestions always welcome.

Off to feed the boys something cheery for breakfast.

  • MG, a belated pop on to say (and I will do in chronological order!) - massive congratulations on clearing the debt :j I'm in awe of what you are giving you and your boys on so little. They sound like wonderful boys growing up to be wonderful men.

I was so sorry to hear about Boots - such a sad thing and so difficult to know how to approach with the children. My mum had to have my dog put to sleep when I was 6 and I never got to say goodbye - she made the best decision she could but it took a lot to understand what happened.

This year I have had to make the same choice for the first pet I've owned in adulthood, and saying goodbye, along with my ex hubby and his new family, was a very important part of it, and while we were all distraught to lose him, we really came together over just what a character he was and how many people's lives he touched.

What a lovely lovely thing to pop the other cat in with DS1 last night :)

Lastly congratulations on the £200 - definitely use some of it for something fun, you have done so much and gone without so much already, and now you are debt free, the choices you make with unexpected financial gifts will be very different :T I think £75 would get you something really good, it may not be the latest highest spec etc but for what you want to use it for, I think you will be grand.

And Souk - thrilled for you lady!!! :j

    Love to all :)
