Well done Crickett! It feels good doesn't it (I know because even I feel the vibes)? Now, was it worth getting so worked up before?
I was to say that The Boot is so busy she doesn't know her left from her right, but then again...always some energy left for a good one...

Thrifty, this is wonderful news - I am so happy for you. And yes, frugallity is good to the point of stability and relative security. After that we need to look at income.

Aw congratulations Cricket - that was amazing news (it bought a tear to my eye to read it) Enjoy the celebrations tonight and singing at the top of your lungs!
Horace - cannot tell you how much I admire you and keep wondering whether I would be able to do what you are doing.
Souk - that can't have been easy, well done.
Thrifty - great news, that is an amazing achievement.

Ooops lost a post there.
Great news Thrifty! Sounds very positive that Carers Allowance may soon be history.
I had today as TOIL. Saturday's charity event was a great success and my organisation was presented with a very nice sum of money which will help partially fill the hole caused by two years of local authority cuts. There was so much goodwill it was very heartening - much of the time from month to month, there is no real feedback so it's a real boost when people turn out to support events such as this.
Souk - glad to see you're taking care of yourself - enjoy the movie. If you have a talent, use it in every which way possible. Don't hoard it. Don't dole it out like a miser. Spend it lavishly like a millionaire intent on going broke.

Tenmah - I am just muddling through trying to get by. I revisited an events website late this afternoon and saw 3 jobs at the Hilton Metropole at the NEC that I am going to apply for - varying from event planner to events night porter to conference manager. That £3.50 an hour one is well dodgy..flippin cheek..don't they know what the minimum wage is that they have to pay by law? I'd get more than that picking spuds!
Ate the cheap quiche for lunch (piggy ate the whole thing but then she didnt have breakfast this morning) dinner is veg with one of the cornish pasties bought earlier.
I am also part way through the auction catalogue that I am typing up for next week's auction and need to get in contact with people who have promised something but haven't let me have details..sigh.
Nearly got tempted by Thorntons who have emailed me to say that I could have 5 boxes of chocolates for £20 to celebrate Chocolate Week - don't think I will thanks all the same:rotfl:
Found this earlier: https://www.lidl-magic.co.uk - it is their Christmas brochure but it contains some yummy recipes so I thought I would share and already I am hankering after a visit to Lidl before Christmas to get some Pineapple Marzipan which is deeelish, might even get myself a cheapo christmas cake too.
Forgot to say well done Thrifty - that is fab.0 -
Well I have had a nsd today
chuffed to bits.
Need to wait in for solar panel people to come tomorrow and see if we can have them fitted. So I'm going to start sorting jewellery for the website and some craft stuff.Boiler pot £30.92/£10000 -
Congratulations Crickett, what fantastic news. I feel your joy. So much to look forward to now. Pah to the fees but you will be earning so much it wont matter
Thrifty, what a great post. Too many of us think that earning more money brings us more "wealth" when in reality it can diminish what is important to us. How fantastic that you have now recognised that you dont need an abundance of money to have an abundance of wealth, rather a shift in perspective as to what wealth is.
Souk....... I know how hard it must have been to go to the jobcentre but remember that you have paid in your contributions so that you have the insurance of a "small" income to see you over the hump. Some days there aren't any trumpets, just lots of dragons. Courage doesn't always roar. Sometimes courage is the quiet voice at the end of the day saying, I will try again tomorrow -- Mary Anne Radmacher0 -

Thank you for all the good wishes folks, you are all stars.
MrsMoo2U - had to giggle. There are some shifts in perspective of cosmic proportions going down at the moment :rotfl:.0
