Congratulations to you Cricket - we always knew you would do it!
And for Thrifty, that is one brilliant achievement, you seem to be achieving the lifestyle you want.
Souk - Am sending lots of positive vibes that your job situation is resolved soon, and more positive thoughts for anyone else who needs them.
I have decided to splash out with some ebay profits and buy a hard copy of The Secret - can't remember now who sent me a download of it (sorry was it you Bitsy?), but since I don't have a laptop it means I need to be sitting at the computer to read and it's the type of book I like to dip in and out of.Sealed pot Challenge 2011 member No 1241 - Final total £154.21

Morning Ladies
Not MIA - but my Mum decided to take the boys for a sleepover and I have been in full scale sofa production tucked up cosy in MFi3 Mission Control with i-player for company.
The sewing has now reached the "Sheer b****y mindedness stage - but like my Heroine Crickett I am powering on through.
Boy of boy - this sofa is so bright and cheery.
Back for a gossip later

Thrifty, I'm so sorry that I was too busy wallowing yesterday to see your amazing news!
I need to get some perspective on this:
I have been out of work for 2 days, not 2 years :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
I have already signed on and so money will come in to add to my wee pot.
I'm constantly continuing to apply
This job may well come off this week
If it doesn't I can temp for a bit
If for any reason this does fall through then I can take a step down. Id lose around £200 per month but as I saved £300 every month in my last job then I've never had this to spend in the first place and wont miss it IYSWIM.
Feel soooo much better now. It's on it's way X'The road to a friends house is never long'0 -

Oh dear claire, that's not good
Hope it's something little......
I can't wait to see the sofa pictures MG, every time I sit on my cream/stained sofas with the horrible beigey throws I want to have a patchwork one! Shame I can't sew for toffee.....!
I've given myself a boot up the proverbials today and am making plans, big uns, for doing the bare minimum to make my house look good and sell it with the aim of buying the "forever" bungalow. I've bought a few bits I need on ebay this morning, amazing how much cheaper small DIY bits are on there than in the shops, so once they arrive, I WILL have decluttered at least one room in the house. I've also got my eye on one of those paintpod things as I have a lot of rooms needing decorating (like everywhere bar the kitchen and the stairs!) to paint and it looks like it will make it much easier for me (I only go up to the picture rails anyway).
Need to make a mind map of what needs to be done and how I'm going to do it, on a tiny, i.e. no budget.0 -
Heatings ok
it was just on wrong.

I have finally finished sewing together all the big bits for cutting out the sofa pieces - all the patchwork is done.
I swear there isn't enough fabric left over to blow your nose it - just enough and not an inch more.
Mum is coming over this afternoon to help e make the pattern - so lovely photographs of things other than piles of fabric should be happening soon.
Souk - fastest bounce back in history - kudos, now remember "it's on it's way"
Kittikins - the sofa is the first part of my Free-I-Y series on the blog - together I hope we make lovely homes for little money (Shhh!!! but my next project is MAKING some furniture)
But first - Sofa time

Morning Matrix (thankfully it is just about still morning).
Some frogs got eaten today - I have now joined my local credit union and deposited £1 in pennies and the five pound note:D
I have been mooching about for a proper slow cooker for ages (Moskie is good for somethings but not for slow cooking) well, I wandered aimlessly into Wilkinsons today and had a good mooch not intending to buy but storing stuff away in my head in case I need to go back to buy...my beady little eyes spotted a slow cooker. I have always been put off by the price of these as I wanted one with a removable crock pot. Well I saw one today for £7 and initially walked away from it but then I thought that as it was the last one on the shelf other than the display model then I should go back for it in case they sold out altogether. It is a 1.5ltr one which is ideal for me so now I can do my soups, stews etc in that instead of putting on a ring on the stove:cool: Having never used one are they economical to use as I don't want to stick something on for 6hrs and then find that it sucks electricity out of the wall at a rate of knots.0 -
Wow Horace £7 for a slow cooker is fab!! I use mine quite a lot especially in the winterBoiler pot £30.92/£10000
