Eek, no idea what I would do if I was a world leader. I really dont know enough about it all tbh and as I stare unemployment in the face tomorrow, todays not the day to read up on it! The other question I will ponder....

Last day in my job today and apparently I 'should' hear from the other one this week. It's on it's way for sure but I hope it's soon. Being taken out for dinner by my lovely deputy tonight and out for a few drinks after. Yippee!!!!

In honour of Souks last day on this contract - and in the expectation of hearing about her new one I have donned a bright and cheerful lippie.

Come on ladies - lets have a lippie Thursday!!!!:j

If I can do it waiting for a timber lorry to arrive with a delivery - and sitting alone battling with a monster sofa then so can you:rotfl:

My thoughts exactly Souk! Will give some more thought.

All positive vibes for you and your new job, and I will wear a nice bright lippy today to remind me of you. (Once I have had a shower that is!)

MG - Can't wait to see what magic you have created with the sofa.

Bright red for me - and my writing uniform (tracksuit bottoms, a T and an old fleece). What a sight this is.

  • Mornin' Matrix - lippie applied, a nice subtle pinky colour :D.

Things are pretty chaotic in Thrifty Towers at the moment and I am so behind on blogs, diaries and t'other side - just about managing to keep up on here, will aim to have a catch-up later on today.

Have had a major lightbulb moment :T. Yesterday, life dealt a right hook followed by a left upper-cut - one financial, the other work-based. So in true Thrifty style, I gathered my strength, held on tight and both blows hurt like hell. Which got me to thinking, yes I am strong but it is a rigid strength that snaps under extreme pressure. Which then got me to thinking about FWs external / internal influences. What I need is a more flexible, wiry, internal strength that can bend with the blows but spring back into action and even propel myself forward.

So with that I am going to propel myself towards the kettle and some 15 minute tasks :rotfl:.

Have a good day everyone, get those lippies on :D.

Bitsy - if you use decent ingredients sadly it is expensive, which is why when I make cakes for friends and I'm not charging either a. It is the present or b. I give them a list of what I need to make it and they have to supply it. Luckily i'm pretty quick at the simple stuff now and refuse to do anything complicated to someone else's deadline! If you want to do it as a business though, you need to start doing some research. I know the place I do my classes run a one-day course on how to run a cake-making business from home.

I think if I do the cake it will be a flat design, I don't fancy trying to model scooby out of fondant icing  it was bad enough doing Buuz Lightyears head for DSs cake LOL

Considering the morning I've had I NEED to do something different. won't go into details on here but am feeling quite fed up in job stakes :( I might start a thread on the otherwise later, off to my mums this morning to make......yep you guessed it another cake LOL it's my grans 90th birthday the weekend and we are making her a knitting inspired birthday cake. Reminds me I need to sort out some of the kids play dough shape machine, one of them is perfect for lots of yarn like strands :)

I rarely wear lippy but in honour of Souk, I am now wearing some lipgloss that has a pinky plummy tint to it.

I think if I was a World Leader, I would cut down on giving money to countries who are warring with each other - money funds war. I would insist that supermarkets change their marketing strategy so instead of dumping food that they class as out of date or slightly wonky because it is not of uniform size or shape, it should either be given away to those in need or sold off very cheaply. I would bring back the pig bin in schools too so that food waste from the kids plates goes to feeding pigs. Growing your own would be encouraged as would food co-operatives.

I would get rid of quangos whose purpose seems to be to spend money. I would make government processes more efficient e.g. if someone has to ring up for dole money they don't have to speak to 2 people they get to speak to one person.

Had to smile this morning Afghanistan are asking for monetary help/food aid because part of the country is experiencing drought yet they seem to have enough water to grow their opium poppies but not enough to water food crops.

I may think of more later but I think that these would help everybody.

Have a good day folks - more jobs to apply for, letters to write, prescriptions to get (lost my collection certificate too..sigh)
