I am so sad to hear that Steve Jobs has died. I used a Mac Classic as my first computer and I have lived with Apple machines ever since. I read these quotes which are quite remarkable.
Lara, thank you so much for this link.2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -

Erm!!! anyone else feeling chilly?
I may have to resort to hoovering to warm up
I "Magic Spotty Bag" made for DS2 and a pair of "Steamboat Willy" ears - so both boys ready for their "dressing up parties" tomorrow.
Honestly I made less costumes working the Drag Queens :rotfl:
Tomorrow is the last day of school then two boys to play with for two weeks - all the mums are like "Oh No!!" - I'm like "Woohooo!!!!"
................. I actually LIKE spending time with my kids.
Now - Scotchguard - any MSE equivalents??? After taking all this time to upholster these sofas I should really think about protecting them shouldn't I???

MG you are like superwoman.
Feeling a tad guilty - I have done nothing today, I had a violent dizzy spell this morning which meant I had to go and lie on the sofa getting up only to make a hardboiled egg sandwich (that egg boiler was the best buy ever from Lidl a couple of years' ago), since then I have been alternately sleeping on the sofa and watching the telly.
I did manage to type up two letters, just need to put stamps on the envelopes and they can go to the post box.
Must remember to read questions properly - now I need to add to my competition thingy if I may, if not then c'est la vie.
Hope you have all had a good day.0 -
I'm freezing
the wind is very strong here and it was whipping through the market while i was up thereBoiler pot £30.92/£10000 -
Bitsy - as someone in the same job, if you want to offload, please dont hesitate to pm me. Don't know if it will help, but the offer is there.
My lot were all rather wild after school today - I'm blaming it on the weather - kids are always worse when it's windy!0 -
Flippin nora today has been a wild one! Right about the wind dangers kids at work have been wild but parents have been wilder! Have sorted out one shouting match and one actual fight between mums today - am beginning to think I should get some body armour next time I do a stock order!!! And also got an ex-mum on facebook saying she has gone to press over alleged bullying so waiting for fall out from that too.
Am happily sat stuffing my face with popcorn and watching merlin with dd and have put the heating on cos is very cold and I need comfort around me after the day I've had. Going to get tinies cuddled up in bed with warmed cuddlies and then warm bath, planning for tomorrow and downton abbey for tonight. I am the boss tomorrow so positive vibes that all the mad people stay at home and I can do my real job.
Will think about my answers to the questions and have asked dd as her future career choice is "ruler of the world" so she might as well start planning:pMortgage £128,626 going down slowly0 -
We have had some lovely tomato soup tonight, made by OH. We were given some tomatoes and runner beans from a neighbour as they had too many, free food is fab!
Got a £10 high street voucher through the post today, from doing surveys. I'm also waiting on £15 from another company, but their processing times are 8 weeks plus, just to pop a voucher in the post! I am saving them up either for xmas pressies or for some new towels - haven't decided yet.
Tomorrow I am meeting my sister for a walk and a chat (she only lives 10 minutes walk away, but is so insanely busy I hardly ever see her.) She has also given me the heads up on a job going in another dept, which I am going to apply for. Then in the afternoon I'm meeting my Mum for a study session, we're doing different courses, but have agreed to meet up at least once a week. Just to get on with our reading/assignments - to help us both overcome procrastinating!
The weather has definitely turned colder here and been windy and rainy. Need to strongly suggest to OH that we get the coal bunker moved over the weekend, so we can get the coal ordered. I'm not aiming to light the fire until the end of October at the earliest, but it will be nice to be prepared!
Off to watch a film now - 'Dark City' with Rufus Sewell (swoon), a free trial with Lovefilm that ends next week, so want to post back tomorrow.0 -
Evening all
Busy day again, helped in primary for 4 hours making cakes with Year 5 kids non stop for their victorian cake sale.
Been to Open Evening at a local secondary tonight. DS3 will more than likely go to the closest one where his brother go, I'm a governor and invigilate at (better the devil you know and all that) but worth eyeing up the competition.
Callisto we had homemade tom soup tonight with toms from our garden, it is delicious
Lara "Well back from holidays with a bump" you had a good time then, wink wink say no more.
I need to get DS3 ready for bed, wash up from dinner, pick up DS1 from work and do some ironing!
Another busy day tomorrow but then the weekend, yipee
MG do your boys get two weeks for half terms? Mine would love that. The birds of sadness may fly overhead but don't let them nest in your hair0 -
Autumn has arrived here; wind, rain and the central heathing going strong. So, yeah...chilly without it.
