  • I have managed to get the afternoon off - hoorah! - so I have written a long list of what I want to get done this weekend. Lots of cleaning and clearing, but I am also going to try and venture intothe garden to start to get it ready for winter. I have a feeling (just a feeling at the moment) that the snow is going to come early this year... and if it does, I want the garden to be tidy and ready for it. Also want to have a go at some of my crafty bits. I have a cushion cover I am fashioning on a peg loom, a big cross stitch project, sundry small cross stitch projects, a crocheted baby blanket and I am teaching myself to knit. That ought to keep me out of mischief!

I am also going to entertain myself by wondering what I would do if I won the £100 million Euromillions Lottery! "It's on it's way!" :D

Fabulous mG, well done you! :T :T

(great you've got the afternoon off Crickett!)

I'm having a weekend amnesty on all those things that are in the wrong place - you know, baskets of little things that have no home, things stuffed in carrier bags to go upstairs then never put away, piles of clothes on chairs... Eek!

Yes my dear, if I win, you can not only borrow my peg loom... you can HAVE my peg loom... I am going to get myself a proper loom set up so I can weave my own cloth. Oh yes indeedy...! :D Along with a lovely house in a lovely field and a Toyota HiLux pickup truck so I can get around in the countryside regardless of the weather. I am also going to get some guinea pigs, some ducks, some chickens and a puppy. And probably more cats! :rotfl: Just call me Mrs Doolittle - or rather Mrs Doaloadwithbeasts! :rotfl: I love daydreaming!! :D

ETA: Very many congrats on breaking the 3 figure barrier...! You totally ROCK!

    Morning all

It sounds mad but I feel alive today, I have dressed up a bit too with a skirt and a warm cardigan which has gone over a vest top. The cardigan must be at least 30 years old:eek: but it has kept well. It was most unusual when I bought it as it has leaves and flowers (the flowers are found) embroidered on it - it was a one size fits all which is handy because I no longer a stick insect. I need something nice to wear when I sign on later.

This morning I have rung the credit union and they have an office in Northfield that I can visit from Monday-Friday between 9am and 4.30pm. They were really nice when I rang up and the lady that I spoke to said that she was in the same position as me 4 years' ago and that credit union was a godsend. I am considering shifting all my banking to them to keep it away from FD (the robbing barstewards).

More jobs need to be applied for today too. I may just ask the jobcentre about one that I saw on their site last week (I have been trying to do some research on the company and have found nothing which has set alarm bells ringing).

Big pan of bolognese made last night - served 3 spoons with some rice which I microwaved.

actually it doesn't sound mad at all. in fact about to copy your lead and put on mascara and lippy. credit unions in the air. mine opens on weds so going to go along and open an account too. i am a FD customer also and they may be nice but they still hammer you when you're down. i'm also doing 2 job applications and was self employed . actually are you me :rotfl:

i'm taking inspiration from you so keep it up :T

Well done MG, and thanks for the lippie ladies. I had a great last day at work and got some lovely gifts from my girls.

I have just filled in my JSA and housing benefit application online. Seriously hoping this will be sorted soon but in the meantime a bit of extra cash will be helpful. X

    Well done MG:j

DoingItAnyway - I am not you, I am me although we could be twins:rotfl: I am beginning to hate FD with a vengence - nasty banking with a friendly smile at the moment. I might nip to the credit union later if I have time but I fear that I won't be finished in the jobcentre by then, it could be a job for Monday morning and I can get some advice too.

Have just applied for a supermarket assistant job with Waitrose working at Warwick Services. The jobhunt continues - M&S have assistant jobs going and I am waiting for an email from them as I have lost my password, then I can apply. I am looking in all kinds of places for work - even jewellers (mind, I love jewellery and have a good eye - I have even been in a shop browsing and someone has been trying something on and I have either said that it looks fantastic or if it does not look brilliant have been honest and said why not try this instead - much to the chagrin of the shop assistant). There has to be a job out there for me.

Am waiting a call back because I have seen a job advertised via LinkedIn for a Sales Executive selling exhibition space, I have some experience of exhibitions.
  • Fantastic news for getting under the grand MG, you are a complete star :T.

Heating went on last night, for half an hour - I could have lasted longer but dh and ds were both complaining loud and long ( I sense a joint plan of attack here :rotfl:). Still they are both skinny-minnies, they don't have the advantage of that extra layer that I carry around :rotfl:.

Woke up with the mother of all headaches today that is still hanging on, I really need to get new glasses asap.

Wonder what's in store for this afternoon. Take care all, Thriftyxxx
