Rice – pudding, basmati, thai, white, brown
    Noodles – all kinds
Walnuts, jelly and blancmange mix, Custard Powder
Condiments, salt, pepper, vinegars and table sauces, pesto and tomato pasta sauces.
    Pasta –all kinds
    Porridge and breakfast cereal
Milk, dried, skimmed, semi-skimmed, evaporated and condensed – and coconut
Tins – corned beef, tuna, hot dogs, tomatoes, artichoke hearts olives, peppers
    Prawn crackers
    Sugar – granulated and icing
Pasatta, crackerbreads, sushi makings, tofu mix
Baking mixes – sponge, suet pastry, muffin and pizza bases
Squash and cordials, tetra packs of tomato juice (bloody mary’s)

  • Igam - Are you taking any pain relief for this ATM? I was told by my GP that sometimes stuff like co-codamol can actually prolong the headache in the end so i swtiched to Ibuprohen (sp?) Hugs for you and :( to the GP giving you anti B's.

DD staying at home today, she's full of cold and was running a slight temp this morning. So we've popped out to supermarket and come back to chill on the sofa. Might see if I an convince her to have a nap later so I can crack on with some jobs ;)

sunny and hot here so rushing about will be the bare min and despite the sun I think I shall mainly be lurking indoors :o 20 degrees is ideal for me.....anything above that and I find it too uncomfortable. No idea how I coped with Florida in July all those years ago

The new mantra of "plenty of time" worked well yesterday so keeping on with that today ;)

Positive vibes for those that need them. And as for wearing make up.....with my blonde lashes no mascara makes me look like pee holes in the snow  I can't leave the house without my "face" on.....it's not the full works but not being blessed with an even skin tone means some light dusting of mineral make up stops me looking like something from Night of the living dead :rotfl:

Sorry for being AWOL the past few days, we're completing on Friday so it's a bit mad here!

Need a bit of advise from the matrix if possible - what do I need to sort when we move? i.e. contents insurance. Is there people I need to phone? Things to set up?

Notify gas, electric, telephone, water, broadband provider that you are moving. Set up a redirect with the post office for your post. Notify car insurance peeps, change your registration document for your car, change your driving licence. Notify your bank too so they know where to send statements etc.

    Morning all

What a glorious day it is today, managed to wash my smalls and they are drying on the line. I have my first proper counselling session today (I missed the last one) and I am not particularly looking forward to it but if it helps me feel better about myself then it is good. Tonight I have the Goldman Sachs thing because I am trying desperately hard to get onto this thing where they will provide money for mentoring etc. I shall use the last £3.60 in my purse as bus fare (thanks to my sneaky box where I had stashed £2 the other week). No money in my purse now at all:(

I use a remoska to bake in and I have my microwave and the stove top (main fan oven doesnt work).

    My storecupboard has:

    2 x tins potatoes
    2 x tins carrots
    various packet cook in sauces
    bottle of worcester sauce
box of bisto onion gravy granules
    various stock cubes
    various herbs
    12 energy saving bulbs
    1 tin tomatoes
    1 carton chopped tomatoes
4 tins of soup - various kinds
    1 tin bake beans
1 tin sweetcorn (actually I am not fond of the stuff BF left it behind)
1 small bag white plain flour (out of date in 2009 but still ok because it was only opened yesterday after being in an airtight box).
    box of sultanas
    box of glace cherries
    bag of dessicated coconut
    Loo rolls
    pasta of varying kinds
    boil in the bag rice
    salt, pepper
    Custard Powder
    Semolina (just add hot water)
Lots of cleaning stuff - including 3 bottles of Zoflora disinfectant.
freezer contains oven chips, peas, mixed veg, 6 pork loins (dunno why I got these as not keen on pork) 2 lamb shanks, 1lb mince. Loaf of bread, pound of butter, frozen fresh pineapple.

I froze a large lump of cathedral city cheese - I am now eating it and it tastes ok.

Need to get some longlife milk and stock up on tinned toms.
  • Hi Matrix :j

I'm dipping my toe back into the world of MSE and specifically this thread. I joined this thread ages ago but lost my way a bit. I've even lost my details for the Matrix website, how remiss of me :o The reason I'm back is my lovely little 11yr old dog had an operation yesterday and we are now £600 lighter  So it's batten down the hatches time, tighten our belts and a kick up the rear for my little business :money:

First on the agenda is list making! Store cupboard, menu plans, Ebay list and a huge to do list for my craft business. I will kick this debt into touch!!
Cos I don't shine if you don't shine.

Yep I had some painkillers on prescription but gave up after 36 hrs when I realised they were not making a difference. Head is 'managable' at mo though so I would rather not take anything other than the antib's.

Very warm here :) But I am not up to much really I thought I felt well enough to get in garden but the furthest I have been is to sit out with cats and confused birds bees and butterflies - as good as any medicine:)

I'm a lurker on this site. It's taken me six months to be brave enough to post. You guys are really inspirational and it would be useful for me to post. I need some structure. I freelance but I have no job lined up in the future, in debt, and scared. Mum just diagnosed with a life threatening illness as well, so double scared. Stomach churning all day with nerves! I need to keep calm and takes steps to make sure I don't slide into a place I can't get out of, mentally and financially. I've taken the first step of changing my fuel providers. Next I'll do the same with my phone and broadband. I've applied for a job and will do another application by the end of the day. I have my health, a full freezer, a roof over my head, and a good brain. So I'm scared, but doing it anyway. Nice to meet you :)

Doingitanyway, welcome aboard. Post lots and then you will become a regular and friendly face. We all get scared about things from time to time. You can do this!

It is really hot here. Done a bit in the garden. Got interupted by joiner who has come to do the final measure to start making my windows.

DS2 has got a temp so feeling grim
DS1 school then straight to work - I made him make a packed lunch so should be ok.

Time for a cuppa and then another HH in the garden before I do some dinner.
