  • Welcome to all our new lassies - come on in and blether a while (like we need an excuse)

Took the afternoon off and went to the park with DS2 - well the sun was out and its against my religion to sit inside:D

I took a random ball of scratchy wool from my freecycle stash (french navy and green) and thought I would practice my crochet circles (tryin g get them to lie flat IYSWIM)

Well I made a plate sized flat piece and then did four rows decreasing before I ran out of wool.

Turns out that I have made a very chic green/blue beret - brilliant with my navy winter coat and the colours really make me look alive and healthy.

    Happy accident -:D

Off to throw dinner on then finish a dress-up costume for DS1.

Afternoon all - welcome to newbies and wandering minstrels.

My counselling session wasn't that bad - need to go back in a fortnight. I need to learn to be me - a confident person instead of gibbering child with zero confidence.

Have been tweeting, ringing folks - grabbed some apple pie for lunch with coffee (am off out again in a mo - this time on the bus). Walked to and from docs 4 miles all told in the heat. I have been mainly scrounging and begging for stuff for a charity auction.

Best get a wriggle on I guess - need to be at venue at 6pm.

    Have a great evening folks.
  • Afternoon ladies, isn't it glorious today, a real lift to the spirit and all for free! And its now officially Friday..:j

Well, application was done, it'll not be great but no time to play more on this one. But have spent some time finding out what competences seem to be flavour of the month in the dept. so will need a serious think about whether I have any work examples that are suitable. Probably have a far greater chance of finding some if I use my more interesting life outside but not sure if that would be a good idea or not. But have decided that I'll not dwell on this one - was only a first try.

OK, time for reading with the boy, and then some tea for him before I settle to a to do list of things to do outside for the next three days - I want to soak up as much sun as I can before the more gloomy weather. (I am solar powered I fear)

    Moam
Although no one can go back and make a brand new start, anyone can start from now and make a brand new ending.... life is a WIP.

I've done 2 days at my temp job :D That should help, while Popeye is whizzing round Africa.

Worried that I might be so efficient that the 5 promised weeks work will shrink to 3 :rotfl: (Unlikely, they'd just move me to credit control if they ran out of work in my section I suspect) I'm really enjoying being back at work, but next week it will be FIVE solid days  :rotfl:

I'm even almost sleeping through the night, which is a great improvement, I was growing sick of doing Sudoku in the middle of the night.

  • Store cupboard list, menu plan & shopping list done! I need to check out the supermarket offers before I attack the shops tomorrow. It's amazing what you can rustle up out of the products from the back if the cupboards.

Now I'm browsing the internet for cake/biscuit recipes using my food processor. I hardly use it and don't really know how to get the best use out of it.
Cos I don't shine if you don't shine.

Dd's birthday is nearly over for another year and she is a very happy 10 year old, she even came down this morning with a pile of stuff wrapped up for her little brother so he didn't feel left out.

Have been narky at work with boss who has been hounding me with stupid questions when I am blatantly working and need to get on with stuff. Then had a hospital appointment and he kept asking what time I would be back - this from the man who disappears for whole days on mystery appointments without a word of warning.

Hospital ok and confirmed that my 'issues' are real and that I do need treatment so feel much more positive about it now and also feel slightly less stupid about it.

What sort of processor is it? I have a magimix and make most of my cakes in it.

She was packing on Monday for another conference but you are right she is normally procrastinating on here whilst packing. Sending your hugs Greenbee.
