Webitha, sorry to hear about your nan. I am sure if you explain you have had to travel from afar they will be able to make arrangements for even a quick visit.

    Hugs.

    HAPPY BIRTHDAY dear Crickett,

    HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU!

Reporting in at the end of an MG 12-hour power-day. Achieved loads of domestic stuff so feeling much better. This house will be whipped into shape in time to watch Doctor Who tomorrow night :D.

Got to chauffeur today but will also be in power mode after that! I have no idea how it has lurched back into this mess - the only room that is nice enough to spend time in is the porch:o Doctor Who will have to be a tea break in the middle of the power-day I think, dd and ds can only watch it while being cuddled!

Home... Totally exhausted and have already hoovered and watered the tomatoes and aubergines. The spare room has had the bed and wardrobe removed, and 4 out of 5 upstairs windows have been painted (the 5th is inaccessible). Lots of mess as a result - I really need to get the mop and bucket out! I also need to sort out a replacement loo seat for the soft close one that keeps undoing itself from the fixing. And go to the farm shop for veg....

    Might have a sleep first:D
  • Along with my power day today, I will be investigating - stews, casseroles and one-pot meals. The aim being to free up my time during the day. I will need to cook the veggie base seperately and then portion and add meat / quorn seperately (ds is veggie).

    Eta: welcome home greenbee

Same here - take your eye off it and its all a dogs breakfast again - pile of clean laundry - albeit neatly folded - sitting on coffee table.I swear its scoffing at me too :rotfl:Even the car is full off junk again - why do teachers carry so much stuff around in their cars ? My OH refers to my car as the mobile extension to the house :D Big Dr W fans in this household too........... except me. Its the time I get to do something just for me when they are all glued to it. I just dont get it. Hated it as a child ( but watched it ) But then I dont get the whole Harry P phenomenon:undecided

Off to theatre today en famille - treat before DD1 returns to final year at university. Then out with friends and their offspring to our favourite Pizza and a Pint pub :)

'On the internet no one knows you are a cat' :) ;)
  • Late this morning - I'm looking after my Dad's dog for the week and he is a nightmare for pulling on the lead. I think he thinks he is in charge of our house - I have news for him, he comes after Me, the Boys and the Cats - in that order (actually the cats have a bit of a problem with that position too)

So walked him out - every time he pulled he got a "stop" barked at him and a sharp tug on the lead - on the way back he "almost" walked back with me. He is now sitting under the table glowering like a hormonal teenager:cool:

Hope I am doing the right thing - but he seems to be getting the idea that I am the boss not him.

Mrs B sent me the challenge for today - and I had a good think about it whilst out walking .................... bit of an "ouch that hits the spot":o

Happy Birthdays to peeps today - including DS2's wee pal from playgroup (we are off to the party at 12)

Good luck on your Power Days -- sometimes you just have to for your sanity don't you??

  • I have to disagree - it is the cats' house, and you are their slaves. They allow to to live in the house so you can wait on them...

In TMIF hovel it's Boycat, Girlcat, Me and then !!!!!!. Boycat thinks he's in charge, but I am sure Girlcat allows him to think that so she has an easy life ;)

Bless them, they have one seat of the sofa each and I am sat on the floor. I tried to move them, but I was purred at, so I let it be. (I have things to do today anyway, I do not need to be on the internet all day!)
