Well done MG :T. As you say tho', poor wee mite. What I hate is when I am out shopping and there are Mums taking not a blind bit of notice of their kids who are obviously bored / hot / hungry / tired because it is more important that they must try on / buy the newest bit of fashionable tat. Ooops showing my judgemental side here.
FW - runner-up, that is pretty good going missus. Well done to you and your team and go you for getting an ovation.
Bitsy, (((hugs))) you sound kn*ckered. Sounds like you need a campaign of baby-steps. First tho', can dh or parents help out with the kids so you can get some sleep now, today. Failing that, sounds like emergency measures are needed. If ds is at school and dd at playgroup, take the opportunity to sleep. If dd still has a day-time nap, join her and sleep... stuff the house. If necessary, get rid of killer-cat - sorry if that sounds extreme, consider it tough love. Try to take care of you.

Memory_Girl wrote: »Late this morning - I'm looking after my Dad's dog for the week and he is a nightmare for pulling on the lead. I think he thinks he is in charge of our house - I have news for him, he comes after Me, the Boys and the Cats - in that order (actually the cats have a bit of a problem with that position too)
So walked him out - every time he pulled he got a "stop" barked at him and a sharp tug on the lead - on the way back he "almost" walked back with me. He is now sitting under the table glowering like a hormonal teenager:cool:
Hope I am doing the right thing - but he seems to be getting the idea that I am the boss not him.
You could try "balance lead plus" on him. I tried to find an image from the web but couldn't so trying to explain. When he stands on your left side, drop the lead on his left side, then bring the lead up through his front legs, up through his collar. Now you should be holding a loop in your hand together with the end of the lead. The trick is to make sure that the part of the lead from the loop to the collar stays loose and all the tension is on the other bits of the lead. It should work.
Can someone please help me. I have been on low carb diet (no grain, no sugar, now starchy vegetables) and it has worked beautifully. Had to buy new work trousers as the old ones were two dress sizes too big. However I have now come to the point where I need change especially with the cooling weather. I am absolutely shattered when I come home in the evenings and getting DD bed on time is getting more and more difficult (and I have started studying again so need that time in the evening even more). So we need a quick tea. Even better if the tea is already ready when we get home.
So I need to reharness my slow cooker but my brain refuses to come up with ideas that I can do. I didn't go to do my weekly shop today as just couldn't think what to buy but must get it sorted tomorrow or we need to do a store cupboard challenge until Wednesday as I refuse to go to the shop with DD after work (on Wednesday she is in beavers)
So please help me with menu planning.
Oh, I also have a steamer and a timer switch. So perhaps steamed veggies with then just quickly fried fish is one option."Everything will be alright in the end. If it's not alright, it's not the end."

Power day not gone so well so far on account of us being out at gym, then dancing, then crafty saturday (stitching with a few friends), then IKEA to get a coat stand as I've decided today my life isn't complete without one - pls ds can reach this one to hang his school coat and bag on.
Need recipe ideas for bacon as friend has just come round with a huge bag of bacon scraps from buttie shop where she works and I want to use it wisely and in interesting meals for a change.
Whoever said teachers carry so much in their car - definitely! I am trying desperately to give up that particular bad habit but not winning yet.Mortgage £128,626 going down slowly0 -
FW, well done on your well-deserved success. I hope your leg has settled down and is less troublesome today. If it is in any way troublesome before you fly, please get it checked out. It may cost, but you are irreplaceable. And that's was travel insurance is for - making sure you have access to medical advice/treatment when needed.
MG, if more people had the courage to remind people of their responsibility for their small children's behaviour, what a difference it would make! :T:T:T
Bitsy Beans - (((( hugs))))
Well today I have done some extra hours (5) supporting a client who is having a tough time - and so made a conscious decision to make tonight a pamper night, have a nice bath and have a good long relaxing soak. Nothing else quite hits the spot for me in the same way. My dominant sense for relaxation is definitely my sense of smell, and hot water just adds to the bliss. This is the bath I've been promising myself all week and have been too tired to have - but tonight's the night! :j:j:jIf you have a talent, use it in every which way possible. Don't hoard it. Don't dole it out like a miser. Spend it lavishly like a millionaire intent on going broke.

Thank you all for my birthday wishes! I have had a lovely day...! Got loads of pressies, have been very spoiled and the day isn't over yet."A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort"Herm Albright 1876-19440

Dora, if you have some eggs and cream (milk will suffice but not as nice) how about carbonara sauce. Add to pasta yummySome days there aren't any trumpets, just lots of dragons. Sneaks in and sits cross legged on floor.
Holds out, upwardly cupped hands, closes eyes and breathes in deeply, holds and exhales slowly.
I am thinking of a huge band of warm, white, gently vibrating light which is resonating right round all members of the Matrix, gathering momentum, and with concentration is being aimed straight at FW in the form of all the positive vibes I can muster, powered by all the force of the Matrix.
Good luck xxxxx0 -
