    Happy Birthday Crickett!!

Well done Firewalker, that's totally fantastic news :D

Bitsy, really big hugs to you, you sound stressed out. Hope you have a nice chilled weekend.

Webitha, so sorry to hear about your Nan. Best wishes to you and your family from me.

Well I went to the library today and worked hard. I read a whole book this morning and photocopied some chapters. Tonight I made up my stool from IKEA. Yippee! I will be able to reach my cupboards soon! I am just going to put another coat of varnish on.

Tonight I had the other half of my M&S dine in as OH is away. Yum! I watched the film Made in Dagenham, it was amazing. Talk about chick flick :rotfl: If anyone needs a boost that is a brilliant film, thoroughly enjoyable. The real ladies are in the credits footage. Hehe.

  • Phew, wot a day. Sat here in my pjs after a luke-warm shower . Had the shower all ready just to pop into, towel ready, mat on the floor, toiletries ready and.... dd jumps in :mad::mad:. Wasn't aware that I was half-undressed and was clueless why I was cross - I'd laugh if I could find my funny-bone. Teenagers - they are just so wrapped up in themselves it is untrue

I shall content myself with the thought that God-willing, I'll be around nodding sagely while she stamps her feet about her own teenage dd.

Other than my insipid shower, it has been a good power-day today and the house is much more "together" -
    Paperwork & bills all up-to-date
    Washing all sorted
    Ironing done
Freezer looking much more sorted with lots of bits and pieces ready to turn into delicious feasts.

Gave up on the cleaning as there were too many bodies about the place, shall leave that to tackle in 15 min bursts next week.

Off to make a hot water bottle for my aching back :p.

Firewalker it sounds like you are very well respected, congratulations

Webitha I hop you got to see your Nan

Lots of bits and bobs to do today in the garden, house, kids homework, paperwork etc etc.

DH has a bad back so some of the bits will have to wait but I'm sure they can be replaced with other things.

I am feeding the hungry hordes - DS1 and 2 cats and dog then I off to MFi3 Mission Control for some serious re-organisation of posts and tutorials after an conversation with MrF yesterday.

Both boys have elected for a "lazy day" so apart from the essential ironing I may follow suit and sit still.

Last night I had a rummage through my bag of Freecycle wool and I am pretty certain I can knit DS2 enough layers for this years wardrobe - so I am sending out positive vibes to the universe that I find enough to make stuff for the next couple of years when I send out another plea (although he may end up with some colourful stripy sweaters using all the random bits of balls LOL)

I have promised a local Charity Shop (not a National Charity) photos of DS2's wardrobe that I have made from their pound rack - they are giving me first pick of the stuff destined for the rack before it goes out and I shall write an article fro the local press - and create a A4 "burda style" pattern for trousers for them to give out as a freebie.

Shirt pattern to follow and pjs next spring - even a chat about perhaps holding a "makeover" day in their shop where I can help by making over some clothes - you know trousers to skirts - trousers for kids, pjs from duvet covers etc. Might be fun and raise some awareness for them.

So its looking good to making clothes for DS2 for the three years of the challenge for less than £50 in total. Pants and vests not included LOL.

Now I am off to transform a stripy sheet into bright red flannel for jammies.

Keep breathing in and out Fantasia - just keep on keeping on.

That is a great plan with the CS MG.

Doing well here in the morning peace and cracking through some of the paperwork - must get back to that challenge this week.

There is a real chill in the air here this morning, kids under blankets on the sofa, condensation on the crital windows too - I will not be putting the heating on this month and try to hold out until half term. DH has put the bathroom heated floor back on timer though.

Foraged some blackberries yesterday and a neighbour has said knock whenever we want apples and I'll buy some eggs from another neighbour so I think eve's pudding and a cinnamon steamed pudding with blackberries on top (with a bit of homemade blacurrent jam too).

We have our completion date :D Going to do the checks today - no idea what we're doing but my dad seems to (and it's nice for him to feel useful).

OH is in the dog house big time however, why do some men act like children when they are stressed!

Lol sounds like my house lol, does she take as long as my ds1 in the shower??? we are banging on the door after half an hour to hurry him up.

Claire don't be to harsh on DH from somebody who used to suffer chronic tonsillitis it is an evil thing

Lol I won't be, but as I'm expected to carry on when I'm not well, he can have a bit of his own medicine, he may appreciate how hard it is then.

And after the comment I had this morning about one of his xmas pressies being carp and costing him loads of money and a waste of space etc, he is lucky I never had the Matrix spade :(

Sounds like my house again :) DH acts like a complete child too ^^^ expecially if he cannot get his own way.

MG good news about the charity shop :)

Well still in my pj's but the heating is on so I'm going to have a lovely shower in a bit,

I have put the last load of washing on the rads and fed the cat's and wiped down the surfaces in the kitchen.

Told Dh while he was in asda getting his anti bi's to get stuff for school sandwiches that's why the strop started :( I'm being totally ignored now lol.

DS1 was asked to start de cluttering his bedroom this morning, but he got up and went out before I got up so not happy :(

It's trying to get blood out of a stone trying to get people to do as they have been asked in this house arrgghhh.

On a lighter note I'm just over half way on my scarf :) Dorcaster how long is the scarf you have and where is the button on it please? I'm going to use yours as a guideline.
