    Morning All,
I am another one who loves September - it's a fresh start time and also for me a squirreling away time. My Christmas countdown begins and I always do an autumn spring? clean.
I also suffer from stationary !!!!!! - just love to look at/buy new stationary.

Off to do some domestic chores now.

Please may I join in? I was pointed in the direction of your thread by a posting on another diary so I thought I would find out what you were all about.

About me - I am Horace, self employed and skint, desperately trying to get money coming in to counterbalance the money that is flowing out. It is annoying because I may have work in November and certainly will have work next year but nothing now when I really need it:(

Will take some time today to read the thread and pick up some tips.
  • Morning Horace and welcome aboard, many of the peeps on here have read the secret and are applying the positive vibes to there journeys :) some people are starting new journeys new jobs new businesses and people help each other out where they can :D ...... what are you self employed in? anything else you can turn your hand to while november comes? try to get into the attitude of gratitude as the secret teaches when we give thanks for what we have we encourage more of the good stuff, im not great at explaining but sometimes it nice to have friends along the way and the secret has helped me and others i assume to look to the positive rather than dwelling on the negatives... we are where we are but what will we do next :) hope you enjoy the read its alot to read :D xx

  • First achievement of the new month - a big deal for me (in 4th year of recovery from a serious health challenge) - I left the car at home and walked into the centre of my rural city along the river path, beautiful, beautiful, beautiful. I am so thankful. First time in 6 years, and I managed both directions, easier coming home (outward leg is uphill). So, so enjoyable, even if a push at present - will work on it.

Went to the funeral of a lovely neighbour and then for a cuppa to warm up. Mind you, the leggings under my long skirt were a great help in the cathedral :rotfl:- and a hat and my winter jacket - would have been perished without them!

So, one of my September priorities will be to do the walk 3 days a week on non-work days, weather permitting, to build up stamina and lung capacity again. Free exercise, beautiful scenery and is sheer contentment after so many years :):)

I'll combine with a little photography project which is to capture exactly the same scene on the first day of each month for 12 months, to track the seasons. With Autumn's technicolour due to unfold, no doubt I'll take many extras - I love Autumn!!
If you have a talent, use it in every which way possible. Don't hoard it. Don't dole it out like a miser. Spend it lavishly like a millionaire intent on going broke.

Well done Groatie! That's a lovely achievement. What a lovely start to a new month. Taking photos is also a nice idea, you'll have a photographic record of your achievement.
Back to housework - booh - it's so beautiful today I want to be outside but if the house isn't to disintigrate totally needs must.!

Groatie was just wondering if you have a blog ? The photo diary would make great blog posts . :)

Serious progress being made. Gardener/handyman has been and will be back on Saturday for a detailed list. So I am prioritising getting the flowerbeds finished and the upstairs windows painted inside. Hopefully he can do a whole lot of stuff while I'm away. Must get keys sorted...

Have also called one lot of flooring people. I need to try to get 2 or 3 round next week, plus a couple of plasterers. Even if I get halfway there by the end of my November work trip, the house will be much nicer by the time I go into hospital next :)

I think that unlike others, my september challenge will involve spending money :o
  • Ellidee, you've given me another project to think about - a blog. David Bailey I am not, but it would be a good place to park the pictures and any random thoughts too.

Horace, welcome! Make sure you ask MrF for access to the other side too and tap into the Matrix magic.

Sorry to drag down the positivity but I have a question to ask.

I managed to tread on my manager's toes today (didn't mean to :() and got rather unpleasant email from her. It is not first time I have got the lash of her bad mood and I am not the only one who feels this way. I got very upset and managed to compose myself by going to do the coffee round.

So what would you do? Just let it go and carry on, talk to the manager about it in a calm manner, update your CV and get the hell out of there?
