Well I have discovered something useful today - I can knit and skype at the same time. :D

All Mentor catch-ups are done and dusted and my latest knitting project has nearly bitten the dust - I guess it counts as multi-tasking:rotfl:

Evening ladies. Back off hols today, the nightmare journey that never seemed to end. I love Norfolk but hate the fact that it has no motorways, dual carriageways with endless HGVs is not fun. Couple that with 2 children who appeared to have the bladder capacity of a gnat <sighs> to say it was exhausting is no u derstatement and I just did the navigation!

Positive vibes to cricket, my dad had a small patch of skin cancer removed and is ok so positive vibes for your mum and to your dad xxxx

If I've missed anything exciting please fill me in :)

Bitsy - those of us who are natives of Norfolk like the fact that it has no motorways. It keeps the foreigners out :p

OH's present sorted (and a lot of others) in an expensive but productive unscheduled tesco shop when I went to find more iron tablets. Now I just need to find a ribbon large enough to wrap myself in ;)

Greenbee - the annual relocation discussions started whilst we were away ;) H seems pretty keen to become a Norfolk native so perhaps we won't be foreigners forever LOL

We moved there when I was three. From Suffolk... My dad was a GP and had family locally. He was probably accepted as a local round about when he retired... And he speaks the local language (as my brother and I did when we were small).

On the plus side, schools have improved out of all recognition since I was there, so moving isn't such a silly idea. Give me a shout if you want to talk about it...
  • hugs and vibes for Cricket, that is boat load of responsibility there mate!

Lol I could talk all day :)

If you could muster up a job with same salary as H currently has that would be great. Off to depress myself looking at house prices on rightmove ;)

Oh crickett hon - what a pants day. Let us know what we can do to help.

DS1 and I have just watched the Wooton Bassett service - had to explain to him how that village took it upon themselves to honour the Servicemen on our behalf. Of course then having to explain to him that the Legion were survivors of WW2 - the same soldiers who were make the promise of "The War to end all Wars" - a few tears were shed.

So for any of your Dad's and Grandad's and Great Grandad's that were given that promise that wasn't honoured please let them know that some of us are trying to raise sons that will honour all sacrifices and NOT grow up to be rampaging rioting hoodies.

  • We watched that on the news too - I am surprised that there isn't an official ceremony each time someone is brought back.

Horrible thought - have they changed back to the other airport so that the ceremonies stop? There was talk on the news that it's been changed due to PR!!!
