Crickett, this is a lot of stuff happening and probably has to be chunked down.

    1) I am sorry to hear about your mum and dad - my thoughts are with you and I hope that they will recover well.
    2) Your portfolio will be fine either way. I am sure it will pass with colours but even if not - there are no mistakes and failures, there are opportunities to grow, rememeber? Furthermore, you did the work, submitted it can you change anything now? No. So I would suggest that there is no point worrying about this one.
    3) Being a cash machine for mum and dad - well, this one is a tricky one. The personal finance received wisdom is 'don't land money to relatives'. I agree; I think we should give our relations money (as much we can afford, of course). I helped my parents for probably ten years and was glad to be in a position to be able to do so. Now they are gone, there is no responsibility, financial or otherwise; just a gaping whole emotion.

Look after yourself and remember that:

"You are more that you seem to be, the strength and power of the universe rests inside you." (this is just a mantra I found somewhere and if you repeat it often enough you start believing it).

I always feel a sense of anticipation at the start of September, particularly so this year. It always feels like a time of hope and positivity. Cheers to everyone for all good things and the achievement of personal aspirations, goals, targets and longings!:T:T

The last challenge for the month of August my friends - MrF is back hme and will be picking up threads over the next few days - he is working on a "membership module" for the Matrixettes on the big Challenge.

Speaking of which there is a MFi3 on the Matrix -could you all spare a few minutes and some thinking time to coming up with what you'd like to read about on there? All input very gratefully appreciated.

Wow - 30 days worth of de-cluttering challenges - WELL DONE!!!

So if you feel righteous (attempted more than half) you can chose to do the last one or not.

The last challenge is to clean out your car (not clean your car, although if you want to polish up the outside that's OK too)

Throw out any rubbish, get under the seats, clean out of the nooks and crannies, wipe the dashboard with a damp cloth, and whilst you are at it give the steering wheel a once over.

It will soon be time for the weather to turn - and now is the time to start getting your car organised for your "Emergency Box" - the de-icer, scraper, emergency rations, blanket, flask (chocolate ) everything you would need if you were stuck in the snow.

Your goal is to have this done by the end of the weekend.

  • Morning Matrix... thank you all for your kind thoughts and support. You are all too numerous to mention, but I did want to say that FW, you speak wisdom there... but I think I was so stressed with everything else that was going on, everything came tumbling out at once.

Hubby is better than he was yesterday. He kept food down, though he is a little pale and not feeling well still.

I read up on Parkinsons and Basal Cell Carcinoma, and was relieved after reading about them.

Money for parents? Well, I have given them money, Mum has said she will pay me back, but I have told her not to hurry with it. At least I have the money to help them.

Today I have three meetings back to back. Lovely. Including one with the Dean who appears to be in something of a funny mood. Our meeting could get a little ugly, bearing in mind I am not really in the mood to smooth egos down. Anybody mind bailing me out if i get arrested for common assault?! I am so worried about the meeting I have worn a suit today (feel like a trussed up turkey) and make up which I have been going without for about 3 months now. It's my armour.

Onthe upside, my massive to do list for work has now been whittled down to a manageable size...! Yay me!! :D

Right, need to get prepared for the meetings and stuff. Later Matrix peeps, and thanks again.

I'll bail you out Crickett ;) Hope meetings go well xxx

GQ - I agree about the new start to the month, feeling a bit the same. But then again it's back to routine with school, leaving me with some free-er time to get on decluttering that I couldn't do in August. I always start drooling over school supplies, nice new notepads.........stationery !!!!!! :o Plus we're heading towards my favourite time of year, Autumn and Winter.

Most definately got my mojo back after being away, although the lovely lazy mornings I had over the holiday are going tomake next week a bit of a rude awakening!!!! As for no jobs in Norfolk Greenbee <sticks fingers in ears> lalalalalalalalal I can't hear youuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu ;)

Have a good day all xxx

    Morning All

Off to London today to see Ghost - The musical with my daughter. We are staying up there as she has a hospital appointment on Friday, but am a bit worried about parking near the theatre. There is an NCP car park near by, but it would cost us £36 to park there

Glad to see your post there, crickett. I'm another one with skin cancer in the family - 8 cases, in all. My mum had one of the very active ones last year, tho she delayed getting it treated because of a bereavement in the family - she had to have plastic surgery, that was the result, but she's still fine. I confess, I keep a close eye on things now, and never sunbathe - if I *have* to be in the sun for more than 10 minutes, its factor 50 for me.

Good that you researched Parkinson's, I don't know any links to help you ..... and as you say, how wonderful that you *do* have money to loan your mum and dad!

Well my notebook is ready and I have "my own place" so I am already for the September challenges.
    Most of August challenges done.
I have found your blog MG so looking forward to following that.

I dont post alot but I do read every post , as I dont think I have much to offer at the moment.
My confidence is getting better though as a few months ago I wouldnt have been able to leave comments on here.
Reading a few books including "The Secret" has helped, even said NO yesterday to someone, they replied you never say No "I replied I am from now on"
Told them I dont mind helping anyone if I can, but I am not going to be used again.

Looking forward to a new month well its a new start for me and what a way to start a new challenge on here.
Taking it one day at a time
