Woohoo! I got my GCSE result online just now and got the C I wanted/needed if I am ever in the financial position to apply for a PGCE :):)

Good luck to all DDs and DSs awaiting their results x

Yuk - cleaning the fridge, I did it before the end of term, so hopefully it won't take all day to redo.......!! I've got far more exciting things to do, like work out where to put my AF order when it arrives sometime between 12:49 and 13:49 today (love those timings, so precise!!). I don't know how many things are in a case of certain items, so my friend's care package may be HUGE! Really hope I don't offend her though by turning up with tins and stuff....

Good luck to everyone waiting for results (be it your own or your offsprings) but remember that exam results do not maketh the person, it is the attitude towards them that does.

    Picnic ideas for veggies
Roasted Veg and Couscous Salad - use a nice stock to soak the couscous in and roast the veggies in medditerranean herbs then mix together.
Morrocan Couscous Salad - use a nice stock to soak couscous in, fry off some aubergine with garlic and onions in cumin, coriander, cinammon, ginger then add apricots and sultanas and mix with couscous
    Home made Houmous and crudites
pasta salad - cook pasta and a allow to cool then add pesto with tomatoes, spring onions, lettuce,

    Drinks
    Schloer is nice :)
Elderflower water, take along some cucumbers sliced and strawberries and some nice plastic wine glasses (or real if you feel brave) and a plastic jug. Put elderflower water in jug, add cucumbers and strawberries and mix up (nonalcoholic version of pimms for me)

thats a start, need to go to work so will have a think.

My mate made some little Beef Wellingtons with chunks of beef and pate in a puff pastry crust.

You could vary the pastry, so you don't have anything flaky to stain frocks and have a nut roast filling instead... Or just have the nut roast ones:)

  • Hmmm given the choice of a snagging day or a snogging day, I know what I'd pick :-)

Someone from work wants me to go to Helsinki in October... Won't it be dark?

Please can someone explain to me how de-cluttering /sorting out my garden manages to affect the entire downstairs of my house?

It may have something to do with building a trellis at 9pm last night with B.I.L. and then not eating until silly o'clock and demolishing a bottle of wine.......
Got most of the garden rubbish generated last night into various garden bins to be collected tommorow but rain has stopped play again. Off to re-claim my conservatory now.
Fridge tidying - got to do that also before shopping on Saturday. (Yuck)

    And cold!

DS2 is as happy as can be :D:D he worked so hard and has done brilliantly. He is Year 10 so has completed 2 GCSEs (A* in resistant materials and business) and has done loads of other modules in maths (x2) English Lit, 3 pure sciences, RE, History and has got mainly A*s, a few As and 2 Bs. This is the child who doesn't want to go to Uni.

So when's a good time to go and I'll tell them I'll go then... I have quite a bit of leverage on this one :D

If anyone else here is going, then let me know and I can give them exact dates so we coincide.

Well done to Dusty's DS2 - and good for him knowing what he wants (he can change is mind if he likes!)
