I agree on the food package being a nice idea... And maybe some copies of nice recipes that you think she might like for the stuff you are giving her?

Just did an approved food order as they have my favourite hard to find organic grapefruit juice for 3 for £1 and I can freeze it :) obviously I got a few other bits while I was there.

OMG!!!!! Just opened up the tin of gingerbread I made at the weekend (got a Playgroup meeting at mine tonight - so rather than buy a packet of biscuits - skinflint that I am).

Seriously dark and sticky fingers of gingerbread - just what the Dr ordered with a pot of tea after lunch me thinks.

    Yum!!!

    Or stuffed pancakes ?

Had a minor triumph in the kitchen this evening. Toad in the hole tonight - but I caved and bought a packet of LIDL potatoes last week - and they are pants, really wet, watery and yuck! Being Scots and a rural lass I am a bit of a potato connoisseur and these don't stack up at all.

So par "steamed" them in the micro then tossed them in 2 tbsp veg pil, 2 tbsp polenta, 1 tsp garlic granules and 1 tbsp chopped sage.

Cue crispy, crispy roast potatoes that must have been good because there are none left.

Gotta take your celebrations where you can ladies :D
