you lot have been busy today.
I have just had an  moment. I opened a bag of flour all ready to make some lovely scones and there are bloomin weevils in it. Checked the cupboard and there they are little squirts pottering about. No bleach in to zap the boogers............
Will have to go to the garage first thing in the morning and get zapping. Not a happy bunny because that is a whole storecupboard of dry food that I have to put in the bin now. That will teach me not to have everything in kilner jars wont it.Some days there aren't any trumpets, just lots of dragons. Courage doesn't always roar. Sometimes courage is the quiet voice at the end of the day saying, I will try again tomorrow -- Mary Anne Radmacher0 -
Sorry to hear that Cheri. I have to admit that I don't always out my flour etc. in jars... Maybe I should think about it. And shove the unopened flour in the freezer for a bit...0

Morning all
Pesky things those weevils I remember having them once when I purchased some flour from a local mill. Good luck with clearing them.
Good weather day here today so plan to go and pick some more blackberries later (might rope in child 2 aswell).
Before that general pottering and tidying downstairs and then some much needed hoovering and bathroom cleaning.
Hoping to find time to do a bit in the garden to and DS1 needs some cash for a golf lesson so he can be on heavy garden work.
I will make time each day to do a bit of work on all of my paperwork piles and must also label the new school stuff as we are away for most of next week. The birds of sadness may fly overhead but don't let them nest in your hair0 -
Morning all!
Great to read about successful weekends! I've been stuck in bed all weekend, legs not workingbut DH has been busy. He fixed the broken bathroom window and cleaned all the mould off the window frames, washed the windows inside and out, chucked another couple of bags full out of his shed and weedkillered most of the garden of doom!
Any suggestions for presents for his first birthday? I thought a large cardboard box might be a nice idea but I'm not sure my DB and SIL would appreciate it
My sister bought DS a drum for his first birthday which he didn't put down again for the next two years! Not sure that would go down much better than the box though :rotfl:0 -

Snap! I think buying enough Kilner jars would wipe out the savings:( My freezer is really reserved for more valuable things so . . . is it worth buying flour in bulk? I use roughly a bag (1.5kg) per week so *pause for a quick look at mysupermarket.com * Probably not worth buying so much.
Happy zapping, ladies! But how can you know what you want till you get what you want and you see if you like it?0 -
DS2 deposited at playgroup with spare trousers and "Magic Blue Smurf Pants" - hope he has a good morning.
WM done - washing out, kitchen clean, living room hoovered.
And so to work - Hehe

If you freeze a bag of flour for a couple of days then anything "alive" is killed IYSWIM. So I have a tupperware box and will be freezing my flour 2 bags at a time until they are all done.
Chapatti flour will need to have another plan though
