Look people - I've been back a week & am trying to catch up - can I ask you not to chat for today so I can get up to date with everything (or is anyone able to summarise for me?).
I did get the gist though Tenmah - well done for your DD - I hope that she can at least have some relief with the extra DLA funds (I got that right...????)

You did Clootie. She has been awarded high rate for both mobility and care. Also it is a passport benefit, in that it means there are other monies she can claim which at least allows her the freedom of choice over what work she does and for how many days etc.

Ok Matrix Mummies - second pair of pants .................
............... although more of a dribble event rather than an accident IYSWIM.
But my kitchen is gleaming (in fact I am typing this as I wait for the floor to dry). Getting it sorted as I am starting a cool new food series for the blog so I need to be able to take pictures. The lunch time foods one - including a nifty idea for cooking 101 different soups for your packed lunch whilst you are having breakfast.
Will clean the bathroom when DS2 is in bed - so off to hoover and dust my boudoir -
Think I will pull the sewing machine out to make some mess now that I have cleaned everything up - LOL

Okay time to get positive....
Hm beef pie ready for tea tonight.
Pots and veggies prepped.
Beetroots, carrots and turnips thinned out in veggie patch - need to do swede and cabbage; and source some canes for our peas. Grass sorry weeds need cut but are far too soggy after yesterday's rain.
Still pressing on with my challenging Totoro gloves for dd. I think my stranding and weaving in floats is a wee bit tight, the thumb holder is in place and only a few episodes of fighting with needles, balls of wool, fingers and elbows to report.
This week's challenge is to introduce some new menus into our weekly meal plan as it's getting a bit staid....
Cup of cha finished so time to get on, enjoy the rest of Sunday folks, Thriftyxxx0 -
Sounds as MG and Thrifty are having productive days
I am slowly making inroads into the chaos in the study and trying not to transfer it elsewhere.
I have been through one filing cabinet and archived old tax paperwork and dead bank accounts. I guess I should shred the dead stuff, but for some arson I am reluctant to do this even though they have been dead for some time... Maybe I should put them in a box to take to the office (OH took a huge bag last time he went...) I also went through my pension paperwork and need to go through it again when I can concentrate on what to keep and what to bin... But it did confirm that my early pensions were worth peanuts, I am still contracted out of the state second pension (I must have had a moment of efficiency when I left my last job (my last two company pensions were contracted out) and redirected contributions to the old pension I had specifically for this 12 years ago.
As a result of clearing the first drawer, I need to contact the share scheme administrators from my last job and a. Give them my new bank account details so I can close the old one and b. Find out whether dividends can be reinvested in shares. I also need to contact my current pension administrator and increase my pension payments, open a savings account (I closed mine last year as accessing it was a nightmare and it ended up annoying me too much), review my mortgage payments and decide which of my two ISAs to out this year's ISA allowance in. Oh... And print off my payslips and P11D so I can do my tax return
Just having a rest, then I will do the other drawer before tackling the surface layers. It would be nice to be able to work in there again!0 -
Tenmah - excellent news for your DD :T
Nothing much going on here except for some more holiday prep. Awful nights sleep again with the kids, cat and my back <sigh>
I have done a bit of gentle pilates this morning and will need to carry on whilst we're away so need to remember to pack my book.

Have a lovely holiday Bitsy.
Second filing drawer done. Telephone bills from 2003-2005 added to shredding pile... Insurance booklets also dumped, but correspondence kept. Electrician's quote found in the right place... I'd filed the last paid invoice in the wrong place which caused the confusion. So next job is to pay the electrician, reflexologist, my dad and the bathroom people. And then tell my brother how much he owes me... And ask him when he's going to collect his stuff from the shed as I'd quite like to be able to get in there and get at my stuff...
After that... Chuck out the remaining dead flowers and wash up the vases and anything else that needs doing by hand. And then some basic tidying. No point in rehanging the curtains until the cleaning is done tomorrow...
I think I'm winning...0
