Twin2 is essentially a boy in a dress at school, she has loads of boy mates, and has just finished year 2! She will tell me that boys are rubbish and then when we are waiting for the bus home they are all walking down the road calling and waving to her :rotfl:

My gut instinct reading your post was to advise you to move secretly. Dont mention it to mother inlaw or give your new address. Imagine the response she would get from the new neighbours doing that at silly o'clock.

Or, along those lines.... get a friend to come and stay the night, then when she bangs on the door, get friend to pretend that s/he lives there instead of the OP. :D

What a good time that would be to go and 'drop something off' and yell through the letterbox.....:D

I was just going to say the same thing.

Not because it would do any good - because she's quite clearly beyond that at this stage, but it might amuse you to have the boot on the other foot. ;)

What's the very definition of insanity? Doing the same thing over and over again and expecting a different outcome? She's been doing it for 25 years.

A lot of these rellies seem to be inlaws of one sort or another. I'm not very good at putting up and shutting up so I'd best not get married I reckon.
  • I had trouble with an ex friend of mine. He would come 'round late at night, drunk, and if i did not answer the door, he would make a terrible racket. I eventually took out an injunction, and he soon stopped after a few times in a cell, incidentally this had been going on for years and I just thought no more. The best way is to not answer, if she makes a racket, let the neighbours phone the police, and explain the situation to them. Its just blackmail, some people just want their own way. Good luck

Tell th eneighbours beforehand what you're doing then at least they're forewarned - One of them might then feel inclined to tell her what you've planned. My guess is she'll stop if she's embarrassed knowing that the neighbours are all talking about her.
It aint over til I've done singing....

On a slightly lighter hearted note, but just as annoying... my older sister (nearly 40), turned up to my wedding last year dressed as an ostrich. Her words " i'm wearing my ostrich outfit". *sigh*. Now every time i see her, she complains that she isnt in many of the photos, and there are none which show her bottom half. Plus she showed up carrying her 30 year old childhood cuddly toy, and spent the day trying to sneak it into all the photos. My friends at the wedding still cant quite believe she was real...
