    go into gps status
    select configure
select other cable NMA or something like that
baud rate 9600 (this should work, if not try 4800)
then click on "gps on navigator"
Leave it for a few minutes to see if any satellites are detected. This should work as mine is working fine with these settings

you can make wifi by getting one of these https://www.ebuyer.com/UK/product/89714

    i ordered one to test

Brill, got mine today and set it up in 5 mins, now have internet etc running.

Next is to install TomTom 6 on another SD card and see how that plays out.

For £120 (the SDOI card as well) its a darned bargain alright. :j :T

On a separate issue, once I changed settings to channel 6 on my router and fiddles with 1 or 2 other items both on the PC and in the router settings, my sons PSP miraculously started to connect which we've never managed b4.

Who'd have thought it, just 5 days after I order a wifi key for him to connect that way, it works! Now I'll have to sell the key back on eBay for him! Typical timing.
    :rotfl:
I didn't do it, nobody saw me do it, you can't prove a thing! ;)

Do you just put it in the slot and off you go? Or is it a bit more complicated for a duffer like me. BTW, I have a Netgear Wireless Netwok at home, so would I be able to use it and connect through that?

    Thanks

Its really easy, sync the PDA with your computer, put the little cd that comes with the wifisd card in the computer and follow simple instructions, then just stick the card in the PDA and it will find available wireless netorks.

I've been using my navman in our ford focus, but today took the citreon picasso.

I was told the heated windscreen elements may be a problem but they seem fine, but it struggles to get a decent signal through the tinted glass on the picasso.

Has anyone else had this problem and if so, what have you done ?

I have tried putting it on the quaterlight but that didn't work.

I may have to invest in an aerial, does anyone have any idea which I need and where to get them?

    Thanks

Get one on ebay though....half the price. MMCX fitting is correct - there are several fittings, so be sure to search for MMCX.

    Sorry???
I don't think my request mentioned obtaining anything illegal? I simply asked for information about how I get Tomtom onto a Navman Pin!!!

  • Umm nice piece of kit. I used the installed maps and it got me to work and back. Very quick to reroute when I deliberately went wrong. 5 digit post code is a pain but i have tom tom 6 to put on and try.
