I am pretty sure (but could be wrong) that the update wont update the SmartST software - I think it just does an update to the hardware. It definitely doesnt update maps etc.
I havent done it myself yet - anyone else seen a good improvement in the GPS reception?

Seems like I missed out on these checked all stores in Cardiff and they have all sold out. Have found it for £134.99 atmynewcheap.co.uk and wondered if it is still worth it at that price, not sure about the site so if anyone has used them before are they any good as well.

Did you ask in the store or just check the shelves?

The reason I ask is that two stores I went into had them in the back but none on display.

Thought I saw some at a store on Sunday so worth ringing around.

Any store can check the stock level in any other store. Not 100% accurate but it should show if there are any around.

Asked and they checked the stock, which was one but they claimed this was the display model which was not real ! Although checking it out it looked pretty real to me. They did then ring the other two Cardiff stores for me.

For those who are interested. my GF is thinking of selling the Navman PDA as she doesn't like the size. She'll probably get a mobile phone like me and runs tom tom off it. If anyone is interested, she is happy to sell for 99.99 + postage with receipt for warranty.

I got this for my dad, their was one in the display case but none in stock. They phoned round the local stores but to no avail, So i asked if i could buy the display one. Got it for £89.99. What a bargain.

Now found the Acer N35 with destinator sw for £99.98 at TotalPDA, looking at the reviews it's said to be fairly out dated. Just looking for it to use for simple GPS and Browsing the web at home (Need SDIO Wi-Fi Card). Any thoughts on this ?

Hubby is a taxi driver and needs a sat nav.

He wants one that you can just input the street name, not the postcode,

does anyone have any ideas as to which is the best and cheapest around that suits our needs.
