This is a very interesting thread:)

I think it is very easy to get fed up with comping and apparently never winning - if that feeling persists, though, perhaps it is time to take a break? I can feel that way but then I go back to entering and am imagining winning every prize:rotfl:

The IWIWIW thread, as has been pointed out before, gives a rather distorted view of things - any I Didn't Win thread would soon swamp the board. Looking at some peoples lengthy lists in the regular monthly posting can have the same effect but when I look at them closely I generally realise I didn't enter most of the comps:cool:

I think some people are luckier than others and I seem to fall in the middle - I don't really win huge prizes but I usually win something each month when there are people on here who never seem to win anything at all:(

fire**fly is one of my favourite posters but I think her point about people posting comps is a little unfair - I manage to post a very few and would do more but it is very hard to find any that are not already on and the not-great search function on here does not help.

As far as pointing out dupes goes, I think it is worth considering that what you have in your head can sound very different to what appears in cold, hard print on the screen. One daily I managed to post was quite spoiled for me when the question changed and two regular posters, instead of telling me so I could edit the comp, chose to post on the thread in what I considered a very patronising manner which implied I had got the answer wrong in the first place - and even though I responded, they never acknowledged me in any way:mad:

I always thank - and so should everyone who takes advantage of other people's hard work - end of:D

This rant is probably too long for most people but I trust it reassures Ratgirl that she is not alone in her thoughts. :)

I think it's all down to luck, some people have luck others don't.

I think its very hard to keep going when you aren`t winning anything. I have been comping a long time so I know if I just keep going I will win something nice eventually. This has been really tested this year as I hadn`t won anything for five months and only tickets before that then in July well see my signature. I think its just luck but that new members are more likely to post their wins on the board.
Make £2 a day challenge - doing well so far.

I had a particularly slow year then in June it went crazy - my biggie was an Xbox and Kinect which strangly enough we were talking about getting little Sandy for Christmas. I always share my wins with family and friends and am basically grateful for winning anything!!!

I agree that it is very hard to find comps that aren't already being posted regularly (and I really do thank the people who post) :)

When I come across one which I think is OK I do make an effort and post but am always worried that either I haven't searched sufficiently or that I am going to be treading on someone elses toes :o

I really do my best because as I said I appreciate everyone on here who posts comps :A
Thanks to all OP's your efforts are much appreciated :A

I enter on average 400+ a day (includes dailys, etc) would love to win big, as I am desperate to move back to near my family, been away from them for 5 years now, need about £3,000 to do it.
It is very very very frustrating to not win, and I don't begrudge anyone there wins!, just very jelous....lol

Blimey ,400+a day?? I spend far to much time on here and cant manage 60+ ,but i am useless with computers, dont even know how to get this auto form thingy and prob wouldnt be able to use it anyway:rotfl: If you are putting so much effort in ,then you truly deserve the wins ,hope they come soon for you:)

I tried to keep track of the number of comps I entered but I lost track. I have had 2 nights of not comping this week so I played a bit of catch up today! I only enter for things that me or my very close family would like, I personally feel it is wrong to enter comps for the sake of it or for things to sell on (not saying I wouldn't do it if for example, I went and bought a PS3 and then won one) but everyone is different and I don't hold it against anyone.

I think it also depends on whether you are a cup half full/half empty person. I could say oh I haven't won anything this month...actually, I have won 4 Subway vouchers, a Rowntrees goody bag and some Rice Krispie squares so for my first month I think I have done well :D

Edited to add - there are two names that keep popping up on Facebook and I don't know how they do it!

Very happily married on 10th April 2013 :D

I've had similar thoughts myself RatGirl. But on the other hand I suspect that an awful lot of us have won the biggie at some point & the newbie has to have a turn too. I use a few different names as I have a double barelled name so I take turns to use the first bit & the second bit, also I have a very silly facebook name & use that too sometimes. Although I did feel pretty daft when I had to collect a parcel from the PO in my facebook name & I had no ID :o

I've been comping on and off for a few years, I must admit.. sometimes when big prizes have come through, I have only told one other comper :o

I stopped reporting to IWIWIW but I will do.

This time round I have only been doing it a week and have won a Lemsip hand wash or hand sanitizer or similar.

I am not envious of seeing winners, the same time around or ever to be honest - it just goes to show we're all in with a chance :)
