I do note the amount of effort and time that people like FF and the like take to put up comps for us. If I could, I would do the same. It seems only in a blue moon that I find a comp no one else had put on. If you look at comps I enter, I thank every single one!! I also help where I can. I do feel bad when I have a win if I haven't been able to "help" on a comp for a while.

And, btw, I wasn't "moaning" as such, should really stop typing what I think, because it seems people take it the wrong way :o

EDIT: not going to make any more new posts lol.

@ Catmiaow - I have christmas almost sorted thanks to the little wins lol. And I know what you mean with the tvs. I'd be happy with a box at the moment lmao

Noooooo, don't not make any more posts, I was really scared to post this thread, as I thought I would get a massive backlash, but was hoping people would understand and have maybe been thinking the same thing, but had the same worries as me about posting it!

I sometimes think companies may recognise my name as I dont tend to win big prizes now or maybe i am just paronoid
I did win a few when i first started and dont begrudge anyone winning, i still appreciate the wins i do get.
I love reading the posts on here when some one wins a biggy.
When i dont win anything for a while i tend to think i am not doing them right lol
Although I think facebook seem to have a lot more comps now or maybe i just didnt notice them before and although i have tried comps on there I just dont seem to get the hang of them posts you have to put on your wall.(any help would be appreciated :))
just wanted to add thanks to all who post comps on here, i wouldnt know where to start,
back to the end of month comps now
    good luck everyone

I'd also probably get round to entering/winning more if I wasn't so easily sidetracked by hitting the new posts button to see what else is going on. Hence my being on this thread instead of searching for todays ITV comps - I'm just too nosey and undedicated to be a proper comper.

Plus I'm too much of a luddite to be on fb or twitter, so the number of available comps is dwindling rapidly.
Actually, when I think about it, it's a miracle I win anything at all. :rotfl:
All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.

Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.

Sorry you are not having a lucky time Ratgirl and hope things improve for you but isn't comping for fun? I spend a lot of time entering and am really grateful for all the posters. I know I haven't posted very many comps myself as they are always on already but I do try!

I hope everyone has a lucky August anyway. x

Oh it's defo for fun, I enjoy entering and fill in all the forms by hand (not roboform, etc) so takes a little longer, and am grateful for having an understanding hubby who lets me have the computer for most of the day!
I am so grateful to everyone who contributes to making comps easier to enter, post, help, request merges.....

@Ratgirl Don't be scared to post what you think, so what if people moan at you. If you think something why should you not be allowed to post it? I have only found a few 'nasty' people on here, most people are very nice :)
No you're not a vegetarian if you eat any animal or fish, so do not insult genuine veggies by calling yourself one!

Thanks to everyone who posts competitions. You are the stars of the board :T:j:T

I'm a newbie and I haven't won anything big! I only enter comps i really want to win so do about 30 to 50 per day. Plus my comping email address contains the word comp which I understand some more seasoned compers consider to be the kiss of death :). I think you are having a bad day... be kind to yourself and hopefully everything will seem a bit brighter in the morning.
  • I read the title of this thread and thought to myself, "nope!"

Maybe because it's nearly 11pm and it's been a long day...

Interesting read though, nice to know other people's opinions. Shame the newbie luck missed me out. Been doing this for months and not won a single thing yet. I know it's coming though, soon... just have to be patient as once I've won once it's going to carry on (I hope)

I agree I find if I post comps someone else usually does and I didn't know about it, still some people give you hell for it. I have only posted a few comps as they always seem to be here already. People like Weeowens and Comping Cat(and everyone else who posts) deserve a medal for the time they give to post comps and I always thank all posters.

I've tried posting a few comps too but they always end up merged as they were already on here lol. I try searching for them before hand and nothing comes up so I post, then someone tells me it is there and they found it easily, makes me feel like ive wasted someones time. The people who post comps up here on a daily basis are so efficient! Huge thanks to them, I really appreciate it! :money:

What is for you wont go past you.....

I believe any wins we all win, is because we deserve them...whether it be because we have done something nice for someone else, or if we have thought of someone while entering it. I recently won a fantastic prize of power boatinng with Pepsi Max...I entered because not only did I quite fancy it, but it's been my older collegues dream to do it for a long time, but she could never afford it. So now I have helped her fulfill her dream and the pleasure that gives me far outways winning the prize! I also stopped entering the pepsi one as soon as I won, to give people a chance.

For me comping is a hobby where I dont ever expect to win anything, but think its a great bonus if I do. I dont think it has anyting to do with your name, how many people enter or newbies....I just think you win because you're supposed too.

Good luck everyone and thanks to all posters who make it possible for all of us! :) xxxx
