We all play this comping lark in all so many ways & find a way that suits each of us.I post a few comps, enter a few comps,pm merge requests & sometimes lob an unintentional grenade(sorry for that).
With regard to merges/dupes please don't feel upset when it is spotted & merged.I have posted dupes in the past and no doubt will do in the future. It's not a point scoring game. It's just to save wasted entries.
Posting comps does take times & thanks to all that do but there is a big big silent majority on here who are a part of us as well.
I've won a few as well & have kept the same details/log in etc all the time I've comped on the various sites, other then a slight change of user name on here last year.

What is for you wont go past you.....

I believe any wins we all win, is because we deserve them...whether it be because we have done something nice for someone else, or if we have thought of someone while entering it. I recently won a fantastic prize of power boatinng with Pepsi Max...I entered because not only did I quite fancy it, but it's been my older collegues dream to do it for a long time, but she could never afford it. So now I have helped her fulfill her dream and the pleasure that gives me far outways winning the prize! I also stopped entering the pepsi one as soon as I won, to give people a chance.

For me comping is a hobby where I dont ever expect to win anything, but think its a great bonus if I do. I dont think it has anyting to do with your name, how many people enter or newbies....I just think you win because you're supposed too.

Good luck everyone and thanks to all posters who make it possible for all of us! :) xxxx

I think it's all down to luck, some people have luck others don't.
No you're not a vegetarian if you eat any animal or fish, so do not insult genuine veggies by calling yourself one!

Thanks to everyone who posts competitions. You are the stars of the board :T:j:T

    I've wondered this myself.

I quite often see newbies winning the Dorset Cereals Spin the Bottle after a week of playing, I've been playing every day for over 3 years now (incl xmas day etc) and only missed one week when I was on holiday and NEVER won! I've wondered if I sign up with a new account I might win?! Or it could be the time of day I'm playing (earlier than 9am).

However I have won from the same site several times i.e. Smooth Radio however these are few and far between, there's plenty of sites I've been entering from for years and never won.

Also I think my local Heart used to pick me on purpose to play Minute to Win It in the mornings for entertainment value, don't get me wrong I'm not thick it's just my general knowledge isn't superb and I am too young to answer half the question. I don't enter this anymore though as they merged the station with another and sacked the brilliant presenters!

Usually I think it's down to complete luck of the draw, for example some people may win three TVs a year, or 2 holidays a year. I've never won a TV, or a holiday/short break!

Although one of my Dad's work colleagues started comping after hearing about my wins, she doesn't enter many (like 5 a day - ha! comps not fruit/veg) but won a luxury short break in the first week! I've comped three years and never won even a night away!
    2009 Wins = £833
    2010 Wins = £6,597
    2011 Wins = £7,083

    £2,012 in 2012 = £450/£2,012
    20 in 2012 = 4/20
  • Obviously I am new and I have won a Kola and a trip to meet Jedward! LOL

Anyway I think negativity attracts negativity and I think if you believe/think positive you willget what you deserve.

Saying that I have not checked my lotto numbers and I soooo deserve that :rotfl:

I'm quite offended by that firefly :(

Although I do try and put up comps if they haven't already been posted, I do spend alot of time on here entering comps. Soon as the kids are in bed I'm on here doing as many as I can until I feel sleepy. Today there's been loads, and I'm still doing them..... blooming end of the month!!! ;)

But I do enter loads, I have had a few decent wins, still waiting for a big one. I honestly think it's all down to luck. Facebook & Twitter comps I'm slowly going off, because it does seem the same winners.

EDIT: I only use MSE for comps btw :)

Hi agree it does seem to be the same winners, but why, Im rubbish at F/b and Twitter,I like everything in sight and share and comment but still dont seem to win . should we keep sharing, or keep liking, have no idea but the same names seem to crop up

Hi, sorry for a bit of a moan (will probably regret this and may get it deleted... sorry not feeling mentally great!)
But do you think some companies get fed up of seeing the same name come up, it seems that all the (sorry to use this word) newbies seem to win most of the decent prizes, not all but most, do you think it's because of the name, and email address, I know they are meant to be picked at random, and I know there are more compers and less prizes, but compared to my first 6 months/year, I have won practically nothing! few books, dvd's, cd's etc...
Please don't go mad at me, but this is how I feel, and I am sure others do, and I'm sure I will get the oh don't worry it will be your turn again, etc..
Just wanted to know what others thought?

Hello`, I am a newbie:j! As you can see from my signature I am still waiting for ITV to call. lol:rotfl:
My opinion is..... Newbies like me get so giddy at winning "Can of spam" that we post in IWIWIW. Some [STRIKE]older[/STRIKE] oops meant existing compers are very polite and will always post to IWIWIW so their names will crop up all of the time:T. Then there are others who don't have time/don't remember/don't know how/don't want to post in IWIWIW and I'm sure these people have some amazing wins.

As an example...Weeowens posted a comp to "win a mini" and the winner elected not to publicise on here.

I have to believe its the "luck of the draw" or it would become tedious to enter:eek: Hope you feel better soon.:A

I also try to find comps to give something back but they are so blimmin good at this that I have only found a couple lol!:A=people who post. Thank you!!!

Love to win. Thank you to all who post!

  • I've been comping since January this year. I go on this site at 7.00 pm (sometimes earlier) until at least midnight every night and all I do is enter comps.

I've had one big win (the Mastercard days out promotion) and a few little wins - tickets to local events and a DVD, but not a lot really. I get a bit jealous when people say it was a lot easier to win before and they used to win loads of competitions before it got so popular.

I think it's probably a mixture of much more people entering these days - no need for postcards and stamps etc, and less comps needing a lot of effort e.g tie-breakers - and possibly newbies entering more comps, and posting more small wins.

I'd love to win a holiday/weekend away and a new TV (ours takes up half the living room) and enter all these ones but nothing yet

Thank you all for your reply's, it has been really insightful, I know that newbies tend to post most of there win's in I win, but if I look at facebook, and see the companies announcing the winners, it seems to be the same people winning, and the bigger prizes, same names...
As I said before I do not begrudge anyone there wins, I just feel a bit disheartened when I know I have entered the same amount of comps as I always have and haven't won anything really really good, early last year I had a few really good wins, and now nothing really.

i have been comping for years and i cram as many comps in as possible in little time i have spare
    never won a biggie
and still get silly over a small win
and that does surely depend on your definition?
i won £250 from reward your thirst (not arrived yet)
but when you put that against cost of two teens through driving lessons and tests its not gonna go far
but to me its a massive win simply beacause its a big chunk out of the driving lessons
always happy to win and even cinema tickets are welcome in this house (1 pair tix in last 4 years)
so i can go and get some peace or get rid of teens for a couple hours:rotfl:
    63 mortgage payments to go.

    Zero wins 2016 😥

i think we all hope for the biggy dont we.

As Ive just won a 12 day cruise - OMG - i think thats a biggy so I am chuffed.

Ive had a few really good wins over the years and of course totally appreciative to the original poster of the comp on here.

I do try and post up competitons when I find them plus I help run a site that runs competitions too so I feel I am giving back that way :j

I think its simply the luck of the draw. I know when I am doing my winners it amazes me that sometimes the same person will come out for two different competitions on the same day - its totally random.
