Afternoon All - Hope we are well

Can I join you in the healthy eating? I must admit I got some great Weight Watchers recipes from DLB lat year, I did put them to the test, but dont really get the support from OH, he likes his sweet things far too much. My weight has remained the same, and I have actually lost inches. But would like to lose bit more weight.

Keep up the good work DLB I know its hard for you, but you'll get there

Have fun to those going to Florida soon or later on, myself & OH hope to get married there in Oct 2008. My brother & his wife have started the applications to move there, (SIL is originally from Florida) hopefully before Xmas 2007 they should move. So Im hoping to rely on SIL to help organise the wedding.

Work was ok, half the system was still down again.

Washing to get dried and uniforms to iron now for work/school tomorrow. Then dinner to start and fetch OH from work at 4pm.
Have a lovely day all - take care - love as usual xxx

  • Happy Birthday ice :bdaycake: and hugs :grouphug: to those feeling poorly or sad today. Well done, Donna, keep going, it will be worth it in the end.

Hmm, haven't tried on anything very fitted yet this year :o but have stuck RIGIDLY to my diet that I started (again) this morning (so far ;) )

Have been a busy bee; I've done three loads of washing, two of which had to go in the tumble drier cos they were towels and one lot put on the airer, it's too cold outside for the line here. Made a beef in sauce thingy out of the remains of the Sunday lunch, then boiled up the bones to make stock with the rest of it. DS snaffled a couple of slices for his lunch and the fat has been chopped up for the bird table so not much left out of that joint. Have also rootled through the fridge for elderly vegetables which are going to be roasted tonight when I heat the beef through so the fridge is now clear and ready for another shopping expedition.

Also took down the cards and the fireplace decorations and dusted the sitting room although the tree will be left up until the weekend. We only put it up a few days before Christmas so I'm not fed up with it yet, and it doesn't seem to have dropped many needles yet either :T .

DD22 has gone back up north to her university town :( but at least the traffic was fairly light today so she didn't have any trouble on the motorways. It feels very quiet and un-Christmassy here now :(

Have been out for a briskish walk to post a friend's birthday card so am now going to treat myself to an hour's sewing before making a start on the veggies etc for dinner.

    Enjoy your afternoon, all!

Ah well, the holidays always go by too quickly for me! When I finally leave school (retire!) perhaps I'll feel like normal people about them!:D
Anyhow, at least my ironing's done this morning - no more jobs 'til tonight.
Hope you all have a great day.

Yes, beemuzed, retirement brings amazing changes to your view of the world - especially if you're the 24/7 type of teacher who is always thinking about the job.

After over three decades of interacting with children between the ages of 10 - 16, not having to again was very weird!!:D Though I was helped through the transition period by a very kind and generous ex-student from nearly three decades ago! She e-appeared, helped and left all within 6 months! :A

I was lucky and got early ill-health retirement - the downside being that you do actually have to be seriously ill to get this. But I recommend retirement!!! :D I love it.

Hope you don't have too many decades to serve yet. :(
    Where now?

I need to update my signature, we went to Mr T's this afternoon, spent £55.21 out of my £80 allowed for this months shopping, need to go into the market for veg on Friday but that won't be too much................got some sausage reduced to half price, posh ones........they have recently changed our store round and you can't find a damn thing, nothing is where you think it should be, walked round for ages looking for something only to find I had passed it TWICE!!!!! There were a few things I could not get, but we will do without them..........not essentials really..........

Tomorrow I have a mystery shopper assignment, more cash for the holiday fund...........

DD(12) was violently sick twice this morning but seems much better now.

Need to go iron her school uniform later and have made pea soup in the slow cooker which DH loves.

Not got much done today but decided just to take things easy as I am starting to feel queasy.

Tried to thank everybody but the button did not seem to be working.

Well I have had a day of pottering....

I made some 'something out of nothing' soup using up all the tired looking veg in the fridge. I also made some crusty bread to go with it and a trifle for afterwards. The defrosted turkey bones are simmering on the hob to make stock.....so at least I achieved something today. I did do a bit of tidying up and a quick nip round with the vacuum but that's about it.

Plans for this evening......have a soak in the bath, light the fire and 'borrow' one of my daughters books to read. In other words be a complete slob.

dlb, well done for coping without the cigarettes. :T
catowen, You sound much happier today. Like everyone said yesterday, you sound like a lovely mum and I imagine your kids wouldn't swap you for anything.
kyle, glad you're feeling a bit better
joannasmum, I hope you feel better soon.
    Happy birthday iceicebaby :bdaycake:

To all who can't fit into their jeans I can empathise. Pam I'm so envious of your weightloss! Once my lot all go back to school and work I'm planning on using their new trampoline for a bit of exercise. I just don't want to make a complete eejit of myself while there's anyone around to watch! That's my excuse and I'm sticking to it. ;)

I hope everyone who went back to work today had a good day. :)

    Take care,

Hmmm... second time lucky! Forum fell down last time!

Beemuzed and pennineman I only started teaching in September and am already very very tired! I'm back in tomorrow, kiddies back Thursday! 30 5 year olds! EEK!

Best thing about OS is it keeps me from obsessing about school.

I've had a nice day so far. Went sale shopping and was very pleased that I only spent money buying presents for the year. Have also put beef stew in SC, done a bit of flybabying and went to visit mum with birthday hugs. Took her some lovely hm soup instead of going out for lunch!

Oh and got a bm from freecycle! Yay!

Keep up all this hard work in 2007 guys!
Wandered away from the MSE track for a while but am back and on a mission! Debts cleared nearly £18k. Now to start saving ...

    Hi

Hope you don't mind me joining in. I have been a lurker on this board for a while, but as I have decided to join in now as I need some motivation.

I have managed to build up about £1800 on my mastercard over xmas and have decided to read this board more and cut my shopping bill every week which will be a bit of a challenge for me. I always start of the week with good intentions to do more home cooking etc but never seem to get round to it.

I also plan to lose a bit of weight this year and am starting a healthy eating cookery course late on in the month, so hopefully this will help me lose weight and be a bit better organised in the kitchen.

Ohhhh this site is so slow for me today

    Hello everyone :hello:
    Hangovers over? ;)
    Back to work? :(

Oh well, I had an easy day and spent.... nothing. Did a fridge and cupboard inventory last night and I can do the week without buying anything except fresh milk. So tonight it's vegetables and mozzarella

Had a good stiff walk earlier on, and if I have a new years resolution it is to take more long walks, which I do enjoy and areso beneficial. It's all a matter of making time for them (less MSE )

Have a good evening all :)
Be careful who you open up to. Today it's ears, tomorrow it's mouth.
