Happy New Year everyone! :j :j I missed yesterday on OS, so I'll catch up with that later.

We went to watch a footy match yesterday with the friends that we'd been with for new year. (Ipswich v Birmingham) Seems that my presence enabled Ipswich to win! :D

I will, because I have exactly the same problem! I weighed myself this morning - as part of my New Year's resolution. Anyway, I'll put it in my signature but needless to say, I need to lose a teensy weensy (ie loads) bit of weight. My first goal is to get down to 12st 7lbs, which is what I was when I got married only 5 months ago. Then I'll give myself half-stone goals after that. I don't want to say "I'm going to lose 3stone" because that's far too daunting for me and I'll just give up!

Plans for today are to attack Tesco. I've got a meal plan sorted out, and I've done a shopping list, so there's not actually much that I need. (loads that I want though ) Some of the friends that we were with for new year couldn't understand HOW we could possibly survive on £30 a week for the two of us. I told them about meal planning (and this site ;)), store cupboard challenges etc, but they still didn't get it. Oh well, just so long as they're not spending my money!!

I'm also going for my first walk of the new year later. This is all part of my fitness/losing weight plan. There's a nice riverside walk, which hopefully won't be too boggy, which is about 2 miles long. Walking to and from the river is about half a mile, so that'll be a 3 mile walk.... and I might go via the little country park on the edge of town, just to add a little more onto the journey!

So, if I'm to achieve all that, then I'd better go.

    I've been Money Tipped!
    :hello: Morning!

Have woken up feeling very positive about the new year and fully intend to get organised. Off to the flylady thread in a min;)

I have got out my pukka pad and made a few lists, first being to sort out the finances. Then the house (serious de clutter needed!)

Wash load on and ready for the airer in a minute, bm about to go on, leek and potato soup about to go into the sc. Need to get to Aldi for some cat food (luckily picky cat only likes Aldi food!:T)

Right need to finish my healthy breakfast (hm muesli and fruit juice) and get on with the day!

    Take care

Morning everyone! A very late start for me as I was up until 2am and unlike some I can't cope without my sleep. Got up at 8 anyway, but fell asleep when I sat down with my cuppa - and boys did I need it. I still need more but I must get back into going to bed at a sensible hour (last night was spent cleaning the kitchen as DS trashed it - don't ask!)
I have to get my head around the F/L challenge today and do a bit of grocery shopping. I should really do a menu plan and an online order for Thursday too (my designated start of menu week) but my head is so fuzzy I can't think straight.
DLB - keep up the good work with staying off the ciggies and do make sure you treat yourself to something really special with the money you save. Tesco have a free 'quit' pack in our store at the pharmacy counter (says it has vouchers etc in it too)

Right, best go in search of my faculties,
Love and hugs to you all

:hello: Goooooood Morning fellow Os'ers, new, old, young and ... er ... old ;):D:D:D

Well, yesterday's plans altered somewhat, ended up going out, saw some shops open, got lured in and now .... I now have many of the gifts needed for the year ahead for birthday's and Christmas :T My gift cupboard is now healthily restocked, all at sale prices, plus gift wrap and cards :j :j :j I'll be making bits throughout the year utilising my various hobbies and it means all I'll need to think about when it comes to "Christmas" shopping will be the last minute items from wish lists (got the Christmas Pudding other day and my Christmas cakes are well stored in advance).

This means today will be an admin day, going through the receipts and updating "Money".

In addition, it's a day to get the boys organised with uniforms etc., ready for back to school tomorrow.

Going to put a casserole in the oven (yes, shock, horror, not the SC!) because I want to put in some baking at the same time and it does heat up the kitchen nice and toasty.

JAMIE - I enjoy sewing as a hobby and can whip up gifts using the machine; might be something you could consider? If you are set on the knitting route, do check out the jumpers etc., in charity shops. Some can be unpicked and rolled back into balls of wall so you could knit up what you wanted from those. ;)

Need to grab a bath and give the bathroom a wipedown with my zoflora (still going strong and working out very economical indeed!).

Have a thrifty Tuesday :D ((hugs)) for those who need/want them :D

Morning everyone! Happy New Year :j

I haven't been posting on this thread over xmas and new year as we've been away for most of it. I hope you all had a lovely time and that the extra few pounds meant that you enjoyed the mince pies (I did!!! :D )

We've all been really ill over xmas, I've had a cough/sore throat since the beginning of December but never got around to going to the doctors as it kept disappearing then coming back. Well it came back with a vengence on xmas eve (lovely  ) and I started choking during the night and coughing the point of being sick. The problem was by this point I was away so couldn't get any antibiotics. I managed to pass it on to my partner and now my daughter has it :( My sister also got it so I'm very popular as you can imagine.

We got lots of nice presies, I got a HUGE slow cooker which I've already used 3 times even though we've been away for most of the last 2 weeks.

Hugs to everyone that wants one :grouphug:

Morning all. I can't believe I slept so late again this morning. DH has promised to set his alarm to go off for me tomorrow so I am not late as the kids go back to school tomorrow.

Today it's back to the FL challenge and I have to take the tree down. Plus I have two children to get bathed, uniforms to iron, lunches to assemble etc etc. My IBS has kicked in with a vengeance and I don't know why because I'm not stressed about anything so I have to keep running to the loo in between jobs.

Hope everyone has a good successful day and get well to all those who are poorly.

    Morning everybody :hello:

Back at w**k today for the first time since the 22nd but my boss isn't back until next Monday. It will all be a bit strange after he gets back because the company has been restructured and our team of 9 people is being split up. There will just be me, my boss and one of our 2 administrators left, plus we'll be taking over 2 other existing staff and one new person - assuming my boss gets his plans approved by HIS boss.

Made a good start on New Year's Resolution no.1 as per my signature, and walked to work this morning. I'd estimated that it would be a 45-minute journey, at a brisk stroll, and sure enough it was 45 minutes on the dot! This included a 2-minute stop-off at my favourite caff for a bacon sandwich and a coffee, which is only cos I overslept this morning - if I had porridge for breakfast before leaving the house, it would cost me about £1.50 a week, whereas if I have a coffee-and-butty-deal five times a week, it works out six times more expensive at £9  - an area for improvement methinks!

VickyA/ageandjo - TOTALLY agree about being realistic about what is achievable and not too daunting in terms of weight loss. As you can see from my resolution #2, I've given up on measuring my weight and simply want to aim to be in better shape, which should mean I lose the weight I need to lose as well. The spare tyre is the bane of my life - so long as I'm not flabby round the middle I have a fab hourglass figure. But I've seen a couple of recent pics taken of me (edit: BEFORE Christmas ) and I just look chubby all over :o I don't own a pair of scales as I think they are counterproductive, but think I'm somewhere around the 12.5 stone mark at the moment. Could be more

I OUGHT to make NYR #5 - be more productive during working hours and spend less time on the internet - but think this will take care of itself now I have a home connection which is soooooo much faster than the one at work!

Lunch today will be sausages, spuds and sprouts, from the batch I did the other day; dinner will (I hope) be a Tesco Finest chicken and coriander stir-fry. I say "I hope" because its use-by date was yesterday (bought it on Sunday reduced from £4.99 to £1.25 :D) so if it looks and smells OK when it comes out of the pack, that's what I'm having.

    Enjoy the zoo PP :)

    Love Rzl xx

    Morning all :hello:

Up early today and have already been to the pool and done the ironing. WM has finished the load and is on the airer as I type !! Now need to do a qucik shopping list, visit Mr T's, get my legs waxed , pick up a wedding gift, make a wedding card and then hopefully have a go with the sewing machine :D

Also need to pop to the library.....

So New Years plans are going ok here. Have just looked at Flylady for today and think that most of mine are ok today, but think that I may plan a 27 fling boogie just for the fun of it :)

(((((((((((((hugs)))))))))))) to all, hope that 2007 is starting well for you all

    Later
