Good morning! Haven't been up that long, only just over an hour:eek:  I know! But nobody woke me up:confused: Just spoke to DH at work and he said he thought I needed a lie-in:D Think even he was shocked it was this late:rotfl: :rotfl:
Downside is that now I've no spare time to hang about on here, so I'd best get on with it.

Hope all the ill ones are feeling a tad better today.

Washing machine is not far from finishing and it's such a lovely day here today, I'm going to give it a blow on the line!! What joy! ( I'm very easily pleased:D ) DH kept laundry pretty up to date while i was ill but he TD's everything! Dreading electric bill!

Well I'm really off this time, byeeee

Found this on DFW have a look, I did my Tesco shop, it found me ways to save some cash and you can also place the order for delivery at checkout..... for me it confirmed what I knew that for us Tesco is the cheapst and its also closest to us........my shop tomorrow came in at around £66 which gives me approx £14 for a top up fruit and veg shop in the middle of the month........will see what happens tomorrow!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
    Was 13st 8 lbs,Now 12st 11 Lost 10 1/4lbs since I started on my diet.
  • Morning all,

Not such a good day in the Frugalpie house this morning!:(

Thought I'd budgeted really well for christmas and the new year and that all my DD's would go out tomorrow when I get paid........but a number of them tried to go today and obviously didn't so there's a pile of charges for me!

But nothing I can do about that right now, will just have to grin and bear it, luckily DH got some backpay this month so that should sort out the hole in my budget. Will need to be very OS this month but that was part of my plan anyway!!!!!!!!!!

    Dlb - well done you!!!!!!!:j

I wish my mum would give up smoking but not a chance...so I send you massive hugs and all my positive vibes!!!!I am so proud of you(sorry if thats sounds patronising - it's not meant to be!)!

Hugs to you all today especially those who are unwell, a little bit down or just need a hug.

DD is 'tidying' her room so I'm going to give her a hand, and then do the spare room.....it will be my study before the end of the day!

    Catch you later

    Good morning (just about) everyone!

:grouphug: to those who are unwell/feeling pants/quitting smoking

I'm still in bed  and plan to be so for most of the day until just before OH is due back from work, when I will get up and pretend I've been working hard all day :rotfl:

I have a little bit of uni work to do today (in fact I have loads to do, but I have timetabled it out and there's only a small project to do today) ;) Also, I'm looking into organic box schemes in my area as I think this would save us money in the long term, and also enable us to be a bit more creative than we are at the minute. And I'm reorganising my household manual for the new year, which involves printing off a load more recipes, and drawing up a new cleaning rota etc. And there's a few household jobs to do. I think I'll list them on here, and then you must all shout at me if don't get them done today - no excuses!!! :rotfl:
    • Empty WM
    • Refill WM
    • Ironing
    • General tidy round (though not too bad as we cleaned everything yesterday)
    • Clean Bathroom
    • Draw up Cleaning Schedule
    • Look into local Organic Box Schemes
    • Wipe Skirting Boards
    • Empty and Clean Kitchen Bin
    • Put washing up away
    • Write dissertation report
    • Update my CV (need to hand in with diss. report)

    Have a good day everyone

    Love Roz xxx

    afternoon all :)

Feeling a bit better today after my emotional discussion with OH yesterday. We are 2 very different personalities but love each very much. I need to get on the diet fitness thing too but in a sensible way. I had an eating disorder from the age of 12 and didn't kick it until I was 26-27. I met OH when I was a 20 year old (unnatural) size 8 flight attendant and now I'm a size 16 almost 29 yr old mum of 2 with a self esteem level of about 0 and my whole history does affect our relationship but I'm getting there :).

Anyway..... Today seems to have flown past already, we are about to have lunch and then I am popping to the post office and to Mr t's (said I wouldn't but I do need a few bits and pieces). OH and I are starting a spending diary for this year which should be interesting so will start that when I get back from the shops as yesterday was a no spend day. We desperately want to go to Oz but can't until we have saved enough money for a deposit for a house and I would like to start up my own small business there when dd starts school so will need a buffer for that.

Sorry for waffling, have a good day everyone :)

    Afternoon :)

Phew, I'm glad we're getting back to normal! The Daily was mad busy yesterday! (not that thats bad, I love all the new posters - am fairly new myself :))

OH has just been into town to hand in his last essay and do a few errands - but he failed to do the one thing I actually needed (bank a cheque) because 'there was a queue'. Now we're going to go and see his Grandad, to give him his present and go and shop for beds :j - not that we can actually buy one until that cheque is in the bank!

Washing machine has been on, got out my thankyou cards and will write/post them later. I'll take the tree down tomorrow.

    Breakfast: Yoghurt
    Lunch: Soup
    Dinner: Chilli, possibly

Afternoon all, back in the swing of things today - am just about to go out & do my first client visit of the year.
The tree/cards came down yesterday as I really can't bear having it still up once all the fuss has dies down (yes, I know bah humbug to you too :D)

Have managed to finish drying a load of washing with 10 mins in the drier (been on the rads/airer overnight), emptied & refilled the DW, emptied the bins & stripped spare bed ready for BiL coming to stay. He's got a new job over this way, and will be staying a couple of night a week until they get moved house.

Healthy eating has kicked in here too, my mid morning snack was a handful of grapes & lunch was leftover bean casserole. Dinner will be fish & a veggie stir fry (once I've been shopping on my way home that is). Wonders will never cease - OH has suggested he switches to semi skimmed instead of full cream milk. In the past he has always been adamant that he won't try it, but he's now prepared to give it a go. I never have milk & he only has it on cereal, but I'm stunned!
I'd like to go to the gym tonight, but today is the busiest gym day of the year, so it will be heaving. I might try leaving it til after 8pm & hope it is a bit quieter.

Hope you're all well have a lovely rest of the day

    Hi everyone,

I am back at work today so I had to drag DS out of bed to drop him off at my mum's this morning. He has got into a routine of going to bed later over Christmas so I'll need to make sure he (and me) gets an early night tonight as he is back to school in the morning.

I was very organised this morning. I had packed things for him to take to mum's (homework, Nintendo DS, etc) as well as his football training clothes for later, got breakfast dishes out for us both and packed my lunch for today as the deli downstairs isn't open today. I hope I can keep this up, I got quite lazy towards the end of the year and lunches were costing me a fortune and I was throwing food out at home.

I'm just about to have a walk into town (only 10 mins) as I need to return a library book and get some guinea pig food. I need the fresh air too to be honest.

Here at work there has been a flood over the holiday so we have ceiling tiles falling down and soggy carpets. Not very pleasant to come back to, and a bit smelly too. I need to get on to our insurers to see what we need to do. Fortunately no pcs or copiers were damaged so not a big deal really. More inconvenient than anything else.

Right-oh off for a walk. As for many others I am in healthy mode, having put on about half a stone over the last month. Not too bad but I can feel my clothes a bit tighter round my middle. I was nearly tempted by a Leg-Master on QVC but have so far resisted the urge to splurge.

    Have a good day everyone.

    Hi everyone!
Happy New Year!! Did try and sneak in and catch up on your doings but was firstly thwarted by my dinosaur dialup and now the computer is flat on its back with in its legs in the air waiting for the nice repair man to come and mend it.
Shall now have to frantically try and see what you've all been up to. Hope you all had good hols.
My break was perfect and have upped my OS possessions via the OS book [one of my recipes and my hints got in...I nearly fell off my chair with surprise. Never thought for a minute that anyone actually ever read my ramblings!!], a muffin tray and cases [well I was excited but I guess you have to be a confirmed Old Styler to understand why] and a herb book [can't wait to have a crack at making elderberry ink and matching dyed writing paper later in the year!]
Now it's back to work....have used the hol time well and have now got a monthly menu stuck to my fridge [one of my resolutions is to monthly plan rather than weekly] and a list of quarterly goals including OS ones...have cleaned my oven properly following the OS advice in the book...is it normal to have oven shelves soaking in washing powder overnight in your bath I wonder?!!!! so that's one off the list.
Tonight it's a catch up with the ironing and watch Dennis Norder. Right off to join the PM and grocery challenges as need to motivate myself again!
