  • Thanks for the advice, these things are a real pain and must cause a lot of worry, i text STOP to 64546 and immediately got a reply back saying my subscription to KKO had been terminated by Payforit.

    Horrible conmen:(
  • Just wanted to add my anger to this one! And to ensure people that this is unfortunately still going on and not just on the 3 network!

My wife has just found that she is 'subscribed' to MyDoo/KKO services without having asked to do so and like many others here ignored the text they sent as SPAM due to not requesting subscription. She is on O2.

This company know what they are doing and are hiding behind ridiculous terms and conditions! It's like ignoring someone selling balloons in the street only to find when you get home your house is full of them and your bank account is £50 down for the privilege!!! (Not a great analagy but i'm trying to keep it clean!)

Like many others I have complained to Mydoo via online form with the usual buzzwords like FRAUD, LEGAL ACTION, COMPLAINTS etc nut don't hold out much hope. Next stop is O2 customer services to try and get a refund. Surely they should check with you first before charging you for a third party service, after all, they manage your bill!

On a more positive note, this matter has introduced me to the MSE forums which I intend to visit and post more often!:)

    Newbie Rant over!
  • Everyone in this thread we need to do something about this. I have just received the message and I'm absolutly fuming. I rang my service provider O2 and told them I was not paying any charge and they threatened me telling me I would have to. I explained that a my service provider they should protect against such scams seeing as my doo is a giff gaff service and they refused. I think I'm going to ring consumer direct tomorrow and ofcom to try and get an answer because this is a huge scam.

    and who is your client?

and who gave your 'client' permission to forward the personal details of the customers of the Mobile Networks to your company(Enarpee Services ltd)?

bearing in mind being the unsuspecting victim of a scam is not the same as having a legitimate commercial relationship.

This is the number for Payforit

    http://www.payforituk.com/
Payforit is the UK mobile micropayment scheme, created and supported by all of the UK mobile network operators (MNOs),
Security and trust in the Payforit scheme is provided by the MNOs accrediting and contracting with a small number of payment intermediary companies.
    Current Accredited Payment Intermediaries

Below is a list of Payforit Accredited Payment Intermediaries who are connected to the mobile billing facilities of the respective networks.

    Bango.net
    Boku
    Danal
    Dialogue Communications
    Ericsson IPX
    ImpulsePay
    24GMedia
    Mach
    mBlox
    Mobile Interactive Group
    OpenMarket
    Netsize
    Oxygen8 Communications
    IMI Mobile
    PayPal
so who is acting as the KKO Customer Services?

the company Cellfish/mydoo/kko uses throughout Europe is Ericsson IPX. (not the mobile phone company Ericsson)

Over recent years Ericsson and or their 'Level 2' clients have been fined hundreds of thousands of pounds by PhonepayPlus for among other things the unauthorised billing of MNO customers.
Ericsson IPX regulatory record is no better or worse than many of the other Accredited Payment Intermediaries in the above list!

AFAIK they can only empty your credit up to the limit of your cap each month.

But everything they take is money lost to you, so you do need to get this sorted and money refunded.
  • well this is the second time posts have been deleted and my legitimate questions about those posts deleted.

the most recent ones could have proved very useful to those who are trying to find out who the companies are who are involved in this apparent premium rate scam and what role each one plays.

best of luck and you people will need it.

Just had this back from from phone pay plus.

    Dear Mr Stewart,

    Thank you for your email.

PhonepayPlus is responsible for regulating premium rate services in the UK. These are the premium rate goods and services that you can buy by charging the cost to your phone bill and pre-pay account.

Premium rate numbers generally begin with 09, 118, 0871, 087l2 and 0873. They also include the five and six digit numbers, otherwise known as shortcodes, you can use to enter text competitions, give to charity or download content via your mobile phone.

Unfortunately as your complaint does not refer to a premium rate service, we will be unable to assist you further at this time. I can only advise that you try to resolve your complaint by contacting the company directly

If you have further questions or information about your complaint, please contact our helpline on 0800 500 212 between 9am and 5pm Monday to Friday.

    Kind Regards

    PhonepayPlus

I left the original email in so everyone can see what a joke this phone pay plus are. Apparently they have an on going complaint with a hell of alot of people and they still ignore the fact that these people can illegally take money from where ever they want. Please get in contact ASAP if this had happened to you because I need support if I'm going to take this higher. I'm not settling like everyone seems to have. This needs resolving because its wrong and should happen in a society of good citizens. Oliverst14@hotmail.com pls email if u are in same situation
  • This has just happened to me, got the text message Saturday night.

Have contacted Vodafone by email, have told them I REFUSE to pay this bill. They are more than welcome to take me to court.

Clearly the person dealing with that case hasn't bothered to actually read it, but just produced a generic reply perhaps based on the 0845 number you mentioned, rather than the text short codes you are actually complaining about

I would phone them up and ask for a manager to review that case, and suggest some improvements to their comprehension skills, like please actually read what is in front of you.
