was that 280 including the miles purchase - if so, cracking price

I didnt buy the miles as I have some, but to buy 2000 miles is £35 so would have been £315

Well I've managed to make it back from the 'Stan and booked our flights. We've gone for Virgin and using miles and money got them for about a grand, not the cheapeast but it suits our needs. Just need to find a good hotel now, and I'm struggling with it. We're going from the 13-22nd of July, can anybody help, availablity seems limited. I was looking at the Monte Carlo, can anybody recommend it? MTIA

Just as an aside, I used 4000 miles at £75, was there anything to stop me buying say 8000 for 150 and getting the flight cheaper, or does it not work like that?

Thanks, thats what I thought. It was 2000 miles pp for ecomony. It's still a good deal (miles and money offer) though it worked out around £500 cheaper after spending £75 on the miles. Result.

Just need to sort some accomadation out now.

Hve you checked all the deals sites..fatwallet link (supplied) page 1 has most latest deals ..last page has some extra.

    Travelzoo is good

    Lasvegastalk.com

Plenty of availabilty form around $60 on the strip midweek but over $200 for the weekends, I usually try offstrip for weekends (fri and sat) Orleans is OK among others or further away is South point which often has good deals

Yeah I've had a good look around, problem being I wasn't keen on the hassle of moving hotels mid-stay and most places seem to be missing a day or 2 of our stay. The Monte Carlo has all our dates, but I'm not sure what it's like.

Monte carlo is a good hotel..BUT at the moment there is construction on all sides of it.

Planet Hollywood has availability for all dates

Ahh doesn't say anything about construction on the website. So you would recommend PH or NYNY over the monte carlo?

The Luxor has a good deal on, but I've heard it's a bit of trek and looking rundown these days?

looks like Harrahs has all your dates...about $1500 for 9 nights if you look at their hot deals calendar...good location - rooms are a bit small but ours was very nice otherwiss and the pool is very plain but it's nice enough...the outdoor Carnaval Court is a lot of fun - they have flair bartenders which are a riot and live music...we much prefer the location mid-strip to south strip now.

    https://www.harrahs.com/AvailabilityCalendar.do?propCode=LAS&packageCode=&numAdults=1&numChildren=0

be sure to change the option on the 'show hot deals' to yes...edited to add that for a trip over 9 nights you will have to either call them, or make 2 reservations as they only allow up to 7 nights online...we've made 2 reservations several times and no problem to join them when we check in.

there's also a monorail stop there which may or may not come in handy...but with the $8 daily pass special it might be worth considering as it will be very hot.
Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?

So you would recommend Harrahs over NYNY or the Luxor or the Monte Carlo for the first timer?
