This may be a bit of a bone question, but is it better to buy tickets for shows online before I go, or should I buy them when we get there? And what sites or locations in vegas are best for buying them? MTIA:o
It probably depends on what shows, and how much your heart is set on seeing them. Many shows will have tickets available either at the box office or at the 1/2 price ticket booths when you are there...some shows will sell out well before...so if you give us an idea what shows you are looking at it would help to answer your question.
I would generally say that if you would be majorly disappointed if you didn't get good seats for the show of your dreams - book beforehand so you know you're set. For many shows, if you would see it if it were available at a discount, but wouldn't be disappointed if no tickets were available, I would say wait.
But again, depending on which show or shows will determine if you can get discount tickets ahead of time and be in a win-win situation.Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?0 -
McCarran Airport is completely wireless enabled. How do I know this? because I am sitting there typing this now.;) And Portishead are playing on the p.a - bizarre.:o0

Gotcha, cheers for that. The vague answer is I'm not too fussed what we see, so I'm geussing waiting to see whats available when we get there would be best. However I am quite keen to see one of the Cirque du Soleil's shows, perhaps 'O'. Should I book these in advance?{Signature removed by Forum Team}0 -
Another quick question, can I use my maestro/cirrus debit card to purchase shopping/meals out ect in Vegas, or can I only use it at an ATM? I'm not really sure what to do regards money, whether to take a big wodge of cash or use my card to withdraw as and when.{Signature removed by Forum Team}0

O is rarely available at the 1/2 price ticket booths - it does pop up occasionally but not very often. Cirque's Mystere shows up quite frequently but only at a 20% discount usually. We have seen both - O we booked in advance (which I would recommend). For Mystere we used the 1/2 price ticket booth on the day for 20% off with no problems...but there is no guarantee they will have tickets available on any given day...so it may be taking a risk if you don't book in advance.
Booking beforehand also allows you to choose your seats - but make sure that you book directly with the box office (go to www.bellagio.com or www.treasureisland.com and book direct from there - not through a 3rd party). The 1/2 price ticket booths are a bit pot luck in terms of seating - just depends on what is available when you go to redeem your voucher at the box office.
There are several 1/2 price outlets in town - we have only used www.tix4tonight.com. They list their shows on boards outside the locations starting around 10:30 and open about 11:00 - worth checking out - we loved Carrot Top at Luxor. Hilarious.
There is a voucher here for a free VIP line pass which will save you a lot of time in the queue...they will update it shortly to extend the expiry date (at least they have the last few years!)

As for dealing with cash, at the recommendation of folks on the LVTalk board and here we opened a Nationwide FlexAccount to use just for holidays - great as no charges for overseas withdrawls and bank rate of exchange and as it has a Visa logo on it you can use it pretty well anywhere in the known world.Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?0 -
speaking of Cirque - this was posted at LVTalk...it's ridiculous...I am dying that we are not going a bit earlier in the year.
$50 tickets for most Cirque shows (not O at this point) through end of September
http://www.ticketmaster.com/summerofcirque?tm_link=tm_home_f7
You need to click on the link for 'find $50 tickets'...then choose your dates...then choose best available...THEN the $50 price shows - until that point the full price will show - confused the heck out of me at first.
There is a fee on each ticket of about $6 to $8 plus a small handling fee...but 2 top price tickets for Ka at $117 when face value alone would be $330? That is completely nuts.Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?0 -

Superb! Thank you!
Just managed to get a ticket on row E for KA for my first night in Las Vegas! I am going to see O on the Saturday with my friend but will be there on my own on the Thursday so will really look forward to this. Thought I was only going to be able to go to the one show due to cost but this has only cost $59 including fees :T.
Now just need to find something for the Friday night as my friend wont arrive until late.....mmmmm....what was that link for Mama Mia ???? (only joking...I have it bookmarked ready  )0 -
For the guys who have been to see KA, what are the seats like at the front?
I'm looking to book those steal tickets at Ticketmaster for Sept, but they tend to be row C but seats 3 and 4 so they're off to the side. Will this be a problem?
ThanksLove MSE, Las Vegas and chocolate!0 -
