another way to get to Rio is the free shuttles that pick up at Ballys and Harrahs (both of which are monorail stops)...a bit of faffing around and a taxi might be worth it to save the time but if you stay at Sahara and are making several trips over the time you are there, it's worth considering the shuttles...I agree with Trets...walking would be a fairly bad idea. :)

Also - your question about flights - changing return dates...it depends on what sort of ticket you buy...the less expensive tickets will typically be non-changeable...some may allow a change for £50 or £100...if you pay full whack, it shouldn't be a problem to change (provided that they have open seats on the flight you want)...if you think that you may need to change your return date, just read the terms of the ticket you are looking to buy closely.

This show is excellent and the Mandalay Bay theatre is a great stage for it.

I,m not big on Musicals ( hated Hairspray next door at the Luxor !!! ) , but i really enjoyed this and my wife loved it.

we sat towards the back and far left in the A section of this diagram and the seats were fine for half price,

but better to pick something nearer the center if you can

    thanks for link Ferf:T :T :T

Thanks alot Trets and Ferf, really good information. Yes, I will be playing in the main event got my 10 grand cash all lined up to take over there and plonk down at the cage. In addition to some poker side games I will also be playing some blackjack and a little craps. I have a friend over there who got comped for a room for the weekend after playing blackjack, I will be betting about 10 times as much as him per hand, which is why I was wondering about freerolling a room!

I can also answer my own question about internet access in case anyone else is interested.
    Luxor said this:

Luxor guest rooms allow the connection to dial up which will incur a phone charge

or the 2 options below are available in the guest rooms also

LAPTOP HIGH SPEED ACCESS - NOW AVAILABLE IN ALL ROOMS 10.99 FOR 24 HOURS PRICES ARE PER LAPTOP

WIRELESS KEYBOARD THRU TV IN EACH ROOM $5.99 FOR 2 HRS OR $9.99 FOR 24 HOURS

    Sahara:

Internet access is $12.99 per day.

If you'll be playing blackjack and craps as well as poker, definately sign up for the players club card wherever you are staying (or playing, for that matter) and give the dealer your card when you sit down...comps vary pretty dramatically from different casinos but I would suggest considering Luxor over Sahara as that way, your play at any of the MGM casinos will count toward your room and other comps...with Sahara, only your play at their casino will count and can only be used at Sahara for rooms, restaurants, etc. - though you'll probably be a relatively high roller there and they may very well fall over backwards to take care of you. :)

This may be a bit of a bone question, but is it better to buy tickets for shows online before I go, or should I buy them when we get there? And what sites or locations in vegas are best for buying them? MTIA:o
