Finally got an answer from Harrah's re- age restrictions
This is what they said
In regard to your question, both Harrah's and Rio charge for any additional room guest over two. There is an additional charge of $30 per extra guest with a maximum of 4 guests to the room. If there is anything else we can do for you, please feel free to contact us again.
Lorraine...sorry to tell you this but when I booked at Ballys I put 2 adults and 1 child on booking form and the price was the same as 2 adults ..I have just tried it now and it added $30 on, so looks like they have changed their policy.0 -
A bit of info re the American Airlines 50% off offer (through a mastercard)
My friends tried to book New York in Sept and it didn't go well. The website wouldn't take the code so they rang AA and were told that they would need to go the the websitte, hold the flights (as you can reserve for 24 hours) and then ring AA and they would check if the flight qualifies for the 50% off.
They rang back and it did, £287 for both of them so they booked.
Then, it goes a bit wrong. They received an email confirming it was £287 per person and rang back AA. They had to fight to get a refund. They were advised that the internet rate did not qualify for the discount and that there were 2 choices.
Book the internet rate @ £575 for 2
Book the full fare with 50% off = £1130 - £565 = £565 for 2
Hey presto - a £10 saving. Not quite 50% off The offer wasn't good for their requirements so check it out carefully before you book.Love MSE, Las Vegas and chocolate!0 -

Cheaper than the Stratosphere !!Better in my pocket than theirs :rotfl:0 -
by the way MY TRAVEL flights for the next 2 weeks are over £500 each. i think it would be fair to say that end of MAY is definatly the cut off for good late flight only deals via previously posted tips with them,
also has anyone who has recently returned , remember seeing Phantom of the Opera tickets at a discount from any of the Half price outlets ??
there is a time limted offer for $40 discount here
http://www.vegasdealsdirect.com/2007/06/40-off-tickets-to-phantom-at-the-ventian-las-vegas/
all the other shows advertised on this site were always available from the outlets for half price my last vist, ( ie Mamma Mia )
but with my dates ( week before Xmas) there is a better chance of getting Phantom for half i would think, but i don,t know how well the show is doing.
tricky :undecided :think:Better in my pocket than theirs :rotfl:0 -

They had them at Tix4Tonight when we were there in November, and Las Vegas Advisor compiled a list of the shows available during the month of April and they had them then as well.Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?0 -

I'm going out there to play poker at the Rio and have a few questions.
I need internet access, does anyone know what the availability is like and how much you pay for it?
I was thinking of booking flight and hotel seperately. That Sahara deal that trets posted looks good $68 a night for 2 weeks. Prices seem to vary wildly depending on where you book. For instance 2 weeks at the Luxor is £1189 at Expedia, £1045 on the Luxor site and £895 at Priceline. Add in the 10% discount deal that the Luxor say they do and that would make it £800!
What are the chances of me getting comped for a room? I will probably be gambling a fair bit. I was wondering whether to just book a few days in the hotel now and then see how it goes.
For flights, I was thinking of waiting until late, what is a good place to get them- are Expedia any good? Can you change the return dates at all?
Any help much appreciated.0 -

Book the room for your entire stay...if you earn any comps, they can be applied to the charges for your room if you book direct with the hotel...I am not sure if you are thinking that if you book for a few days and give them some play then they will offer you some additional nights for free or something like that? That's not usually how it works unless you're a really high roller...and if you don't have a room booked for your entire stay you could end up homeless if the hotel is sold out...or paying above the odds for a last minute booking.
Poker comps aren't terribly generous as the house doesn't take much from poker as you are playing against each other and not the house itself...again, probably different for high rollers.
As for the variations in prices for Luxor - are you sure that all are for the exact same type of room? and have you looked at the specials available directly with the hotel for Luxor here:
http://www.vegas-promotions.com/Luxor/dp/1.htm
One thing I can say is that if you book through expedia or priceline you won't have the option of any comps toward the room - you have to book direct with the hotel for that. You may still use any comps earned toward food, etc...but the rooms are paid in advance booking through a 3rd party - so nothing for the hotel to comp there - you haven't booked with them.Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?0 -

i take it your planning on taking part ( or at least watching) the WSOP. The Rio is a very nice hotel from what i have seen of it and it's rooms always get good reviews ect. However WSOP is it's boom time , so a deal there will be hard to come by i suspect.
If this your first vist , stay on the strip as has been previously recommended. Sahara is at the top end , and kind of away from the main action/sights ect , but is linked by the Monorail so getting to center and south strip will be easy enough. you will need a taxi for the Rio though unless you want attempt suicide by walking it in 40c+ heat.
A lot of Brits will be heading out for the WSOP and for general holidays at this time so a sub £300 fare direct will be a tough ask. try www.mytravel.com or a money and miles fare from http://www.virgin-atlantic.com/en/gb/index.jsp?y=12&x=23 as described in post #505.
hope you make the money if you make it into the main event

mookybargirl i have sent a Private Message to you :hello:Better in my pocket than theirs :rotfl:0
