Las Vegas 2007 bargain hunt + tips

Hiya,
Sorry if this has been asked before but reading through 41 pages would make my eyes go square!!
My boyfriend and I want to go to Las Vegas for a few nights from August 5th 2007 ... joint celebration of my 21st and his 30th (yeah yeah, age gap I know lol) ... we thought we'd depart Sunday 5th August and return on Wednesday 8th or Thursday 9th.
I'd like to stay somewhere pretty central and (if possible!) a bit luxurious as it's a special occasion. I've found a deal on https://www.lastminute.com at £844.20 per person (total of £1688.40) to stay at the Luxor ... flights & accomm., room only. This is a bit more than I really wanted to spend ... we were hoping to be able to do the whole thing (inc. spending money) for 2k (that's the price for us both I mean!).
Anyone up for a challenge? Pretty please lol, any help appreciated!

Hi guys!!
Sorry...this is a really basic question, and I'm not being lazy but 41 pages is a lot to trawl through!!
Anyway...I'm off to Vegas Wednesday week, lucky me, and was just wondering if people find it is acceptable to use a photo driving licence as ID for getting into bars, spending travellers cheques etc...etc...!!!??
Any advice appreciated!!
Thanks
i had no problems with travellers cheques and driving liscenseMy boyfriend and I want to go to Las Vegas for a few nights from August 5th 2007 ... joint celebration of my 21st and his 30th (yeah yeah, age gap I know lol) ... we thought we'd depart Sunday 5th August and return on Wednesday 8th or Thursday 9th
£844 each sounds very steep for 3-4 nights
My travel (flights only) for 7 days are currently just under £400 each ( and may fall a fair bit futher , but you will have to keep close tabs). this price is with the inflight meal taken off !!!
. leaving £800 ( or $1600) for 7 nights accomidation ( ie over $200 per night). you can have 7 nights in NEW YORK NEW YORK for example at under $1000 for those seven nights.
there are no available flights on the MY Travel website for the next 3 weeks !!!
i guess we have found the month the late flight deals dry up. keep very close tabs if your planning a booking for JulyBetter in my pocket than theirs :rotfl:0 -

I agree that that seems expensive...but what flights are included in the package? Which carrier and are they direct? Not sure which airport you are flying from, but you could get flights on BA from London out the 4th and back the 9th for £488 each (with a connection).
For some reason flights out on the Sunday are much more expensive than flights on the Saturday - so if you could fly out on Saturday, you would probably save.
And you could get the room at Luxor for those nights for $489.95 per room (not per person) here:
https://reservations.mgmmirage.com/bookingengine.aspx?pid=LUX&host=promo&code=PBEAM&kbid=374305
So say £250 for the room.
So flights for £976 and room for £250 = £1226Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?0 -

What dates are they, as the strats website has some cheaper rates than that for June/July0 -

Last I read was sometime in July, but these things do seem to shift along sometimes. if anyone were considering NF I would first confirm that the hotel itself is taking bookings for the period...if the hotel isn't booking beyond a certain date, booking with a 3rd party might be worth avoiding.Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?0 -

The rooms you dont really want are those overlooking the roller coaster - even tho the windows are almost impenetrable for noise - you can still hear the screams and see the folks as they fly by.
HTH have a good trip
