Did some clikin' to see £$£$£, went back to Thomas Cook, the girls there went through just about every ststem/offer/discount, right down to getting their posh Sinature brand, department to price match within £30, what I'd cobbled together, on the www!!
We already had some points on the Thomas Cook credit card, paid with that, earnt more points & didn't pay the CC booking fee so were £$£$£$ saved & better organised trip. Even got 2 for one at hotel near the airport sorted by them, with free courtesy bus at 4am & free car parking!!
All in all, as near to a bargain as you'd ever find!! Just under £1200. 4 nights.
reply...
I guess I wont be the only one to say this but £1200 is not really a bargain. Flights can be had for as little as £160 from manchester and under £300 from London. If you take the London flights for £600 this leaves £600 or $1200 for 4 nights in Vegas and for that money you could get a suite at Bellagio or Venetian and have some change.
It all depends on the dates, if they are not flexible then you cant get these cheap flights for £300 each.
And Im guessing if this is an anniversary then the dates are not flexible. You try getting Manchester flights for early July 3rd cheap for example?0 -
I know what you mean about 'bargains' but yes this WAS a special time & after spending a lot of effort, searchin' the www, I don't think we came off too badly - short notice remember!!

Totally understand...my only point was that I didnt think £1200 is a bargain for 4 nights.
I usually go in March/April for 14/15 nights and usually spend less than £1200 on flights and accom..and always stay on strip or just off it at the weekends.
I guess I look on Vegas as a value for money holiday which is why I can go almost every year.
I also dont like paying travel agents commission and it nearly always works out cheaper to book flights and accom direct,0 -

Hiya
I am looking to book hotels for 2 or 3 nights at the end of September. Following previous advice on here I am looking ideally for mid Strip but havent found a deal suitable yet. However, I have found a deal at the Luxour on their Beam room package with a free upgrade to a delux tower room. I was thinking of booking this so that I know I have something I am happy with, and then waiting to see if any better deals come along.
I was just wondering if people had had any problems with cancelling hotel bookings and getting deposits back? Does it take a long time to get the deposit refunded?
Also, I am looking to book seats for Cirque de Soleil "O" and I just wondered if anyone who had been could recommend which seats to book.
Thanks for any help. I am getting excited about going now, even though it is only for a few days.0 -

Firstly make sure the Luxor has a refund/cancellation policy on that deal. I have booked and cancelled a few times without any problems at various hotels with no problems, although not at the Luxor.
I have even gone to Vegas with a couple of hotels booked for the last few nights and not decided till i get there which one to stay in and then cancelled one at the last moment with no problems0 -

When we have cancelled a room booking our deposit has been refunded within a few days - never a problem, but photome is right about checking the terms of the specific deal you are looking at...recently they have started making some special offers non-refundable.
As for O, we saw the show from the first row of the upper orchestra (section 202, I think) and the seats were great...the only downside was that we couldn't see some of the pre-show as it took place almost directly under us...also, we could see a bit more of the stage changes from solid ground to water - I think that on the orchestra level that might not have been as visible as it was to us...as with most Cirque shows, I don't think that the very front section is necessarily the best as you can't really take in the whole spectacle of the show...regardless, there probably aren't any bad seats, as such.Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?0 -
have any of you previous Vegas visitors posted any trip reports anywhere?
I love reading them...always get some great ideas, and would love to read any that any of you have posted anywhere.Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?0 -

there are a few ( but not all ) LUXOR offers about at the moment that are not refundable, so check carefully before you book.Better in my pocket than theirs :rotfl:0
