Never mind it will all work out eventually.By the way I still haven't heard from Flamingo re rates
Agreed, but then again, it looks like Excalibur and Circus Circus are the only MGM group properties that have children's rates at all - the rest of their hotels don't even give the children option...I'm sure Flamingo will get back to you - they're usually good about getting back in less time than their automated email says.Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?0 -

Hi,
This thread seems to be the best place to ask this.
I’m booking a hotel in Las Vegas from the 12th Nov - 20th Nov.
I’ve looked around a fair bit, but the prices for this week seem higher than the usual.
I have just discovered that there are 2 large Expo's during this week. Each with 25,000+ people attending in the city.
I am guessing this is the reason for the higher prices during that week.
Is there likely to be any offers come out for the November period? Or will most main hotels bump up the price due to the large expo's been in town?
If anyone can advise please do!!!
Thanks :j0 -

I will ring to make my booking when the prices eventually come down and I'll ask when I book
Not holding my breath tho.
It is wrong though if you have a room with 2 queen beds what diff does it make if there is a 3rd adult in there or a child....it's still got 3 people in it .The price should be the same not $250 more
As Ferf says you could always book for two and sneak daughter in (easy to do as hotels are so big), but if you do that I would tip the maid $10 a day for the extra work she will have to, still better than $30 a day extra and maid will be very happy and look after you ( I think)0 -

Thing is I could only do that if I deffo knew I was getting 2 queen beds.If at the time of checking in they say there is a king then I can insist on a change as there is no way we would sleep our 16 year old daughter in the same bed.If we are only booking in 2 adults I can't very well create a fuss can I
I don't think I could lie anyway.I tend to go very red dont think I'd get away with it:hello: LORRAINE :hello:0 -

Is the one at the Tropicana the best or is there a better one?
I haven't seen any of the magic shows other than Penn & Teller, but just got this in email today:
Xtreme Magic of Dirk Arthur at the Tropicana
Tiffany Theatre at the Tropicana (Las Vegas, NV)
Full Price: $33.90 Our Price: $11.95
This fast-paced Las Vegas magic show captivates audiences with dance and breathtaking magic sequences interwoven with the rarest collection of exotic cats in any magic show - and the largest magical illusion performed in Las Vegas. Beautiful blue-eyed Bengals, African black leopards, and a pure white snow tiger appear out of nowhere! A real 26-foot long Robinson helicopter flies in from thin air with magician Dirk Arthur aboard.

I think you can win free tickets to the show at the big slot machine outside of the Trop and probably coupons available for it elsewhere...but if your daughter has her heart set on it at least you can get a good deal before you go if you want.
If she likes big cats don't miss the lion enclosure at MGM (it's free) and also check here:

before you go to see if they are doing photos with the cubs (they may be too old by then, but not sure if they have another litter on the way this year). It's $25, but the greatest thing. I cried being that close to a lion cub.Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?0 -

I got married a couple of weeks ago in Las Vegas. Whilst we were applying for the licence we were told quite emphatically that the marriage certificate that was supplied by the county and filled out by the chapel was not the legal copy and that we had to send off for a certified copy of the marriage certificate from the Clark County Recorders Office. They gave us a form to do this. The chapel also reminded us to do this.
So ....... we have a marriage certificate. Why isnt it sufficient?
The thing is, you have to send $10 by money order or cheque to the Clark County offices to get this certificate. No credit cards no cash. Fine.... BUT the post office here no longer does international money orders. So I went to the bank. They said they can order us a cheque but it will take a few days AND COST £15!!!! Which I feel a bit grumpy about.
!. Do I need to get the certified copy, or is the original certificate good enough?
2. Is there a cheaper way to send $10. The form quite clearly says no cash. There is no facility for credit card payment.
My OH never bothered with this it turns out as we have a marriage certificate from the The Little white wedding chapel and they took the thing we got from Clark County offices. what the thing from from Clark county for $10 is, who knows ??? OH has had no trouble with changing passport , driving liscense or anything else , with the white chapel certificate. we might look into to it when we return if we have time. but we have no form to send back with $10 so not really worried about it.Daughter wants to see one while we are ther preffereably one with lots of big cats
Is the one at the Tropicana the best or is there a better one?
Xtreme Magic of Dirk Arthur at the Tropicana is a pretty good show for the discounted price . it must be harder to actually pay "full price" than "half price or less" to see it , as coupons for half price tickets are in all the free magazines . and handed out in the Tropicanna if memory serves me correctly. he is a pretty good magician , but with Vegas being Vegas just a anthor fish in the pond with all the others around. he basically specialises in making big things vanish and re appear again .... big cats included. worth seeing IMO try the afternoon show !!
we love big cats too and as has been mentioned the Lion enclosure at the MGM Grand is a must see.and of course the Secret Garden at Mirage has the largest collection of White Tigers ect in the world , and is very worth a vist IMOIs there likely to be any offers come out for the November period? Or will most main hotels bump up the price due to the large expo's been in town?
your prices may be higher than when a convention is not i town but i would still expect there to be offers about nearer the timeBetter in my pocket than theirs :rotfl:0 -
I am off to vegas next week and I can't wait. But can anybody help me with the following:
1. Do you need pin numbers for credit cards in the US or is it all signature based? I need to use my credit card but don't know the pin number.
1. I am flying with my travel - is it true that you have to buy all drinks on board?
Thanks everybody.0 -
