Just wondering what it is that makes people want to go back to Las Vegas time and again.....is it just for those interested in the Casinos or are there other reasons to pull you back?

Because you can never fit everything in during one trip.

You still havent said if the prices are dollars or pounds.????

I stayed at the Flamingo sun to thur for $60 a night in April this year for 3 the price would have been $90....That was sun/thur prices so $450 or £225 for 5 days.

At those prices the Flamingo quote seems high.

Because there is no where else like it in the world and I/we love it.

There are 101 actual reasons but the above sums it up for me

I still think that they are high...do your dates cover Halloween? Rates are usually high then so that may explain it...but I would be surprised if rates don't come down over the next few months unless there's some special reason (big convention, fights, etc).

If you're concerned about prices going up, maybe book IP (assume you can cancel but check to be sure) and then keep watching over the next few months...that way at least you have the comfort of something.

As for why we go back to Vegas - it's just our favorite place in the world...we do love our slot machines, but there's nowhere else in the world we can go, be completely jetlagged and up at weird hours and still have plenty to keep us entertained...tons of 24-hour restaurants (every casino must have a 24-hour restaurant by law), so much just to see...and as phill79 said, you can never see or do everything you want to in one trip...we've been 8 times already and still have things that were on the list for our first trip which we have not yet done...everything is relatively cheap, not much of a shopper but make a point to bring back a suitcase full of stuff each trip...plus, free drinks while gambling is never a bad thing. :)
Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?

Yes we will be there for Halloween as we arrive on the 24th and leave on 7th Nov.
I thought they were a bit steep going by prices at the moment but I'm assuming it's because the offers haven't come through.
I will book the IP for the first week maybe do 8 days there as then I'll have Halloween covered and just do 6 days somewhere else.

Hi, I am off to Vegas on Saturday for a week, can't wait. Its the second time I have been. Stayed at the Venetian first time, Mirage this time. Going to try the $20 dollar trick at reception, a bit nervous but I don't suppose it can do any harm. Just a quick question, can anyone tell me if it possible to get upgrades on the flights? and if so how do I go about it. Thanks for any help received. T.

Its not a bad idea to get a hotel booked up as long as you can cancel especially if it is a busy week.

I am wondering where you are booking though as you are qouting prices in pounds, if you book direct with the hotel (usually the best option) the prices will be in dollars, or are you just converting it to sterling.

    Ok no problems.

Wasnt sure if you were aware that it is best to pay in the local currency if booking direct with hotel...using a nationwide or post office credit card to avoid any transaction fees.
