    Well folks
Back to the drawing board.....The IP is out coz the pool is closed.
So it's Tropicana for the first week and ??????????

Maybe consider Bally's...the pool is normally open until the end of October )closed to to sometime in January for cleaning) and if it's closed, as a hotel guest you can use Paris' pool (open year-round ). Great location, we love it there - the rooms are really big, and all the rooms in the North Tower have been refurbished and are very nice...pool is basic, but there is a deep end...keep an eye on the hot deals on their rates calendar - I think they go out to August now. It's not the most hip hotel/casino, but we really like it and rates are relatively reasonable plus it's connected to Paris.

The other place which might work for you would be Gold Coast...not directly on the strip, but not far off and good rates...they do have a shuttle to the strip...it's right next to Rio and across the street from the Palms.

If you don't have it already, this link will lead you to info on each property's pool including whether it's open year round or not (many are as many are heated).

I to could handle two weeks on the strip, and have done.

I would love two weeks on the strip...unfortunately, my bank balance would HATE it. :)

8 nights is what we normally do and always wish we were staying longer.

ust wondering what it is that makes people want to go back to Las Vegas time and again.....is it just for those interested in the Casinos or are there other reasons to pull you back?

for us it,s the endless places to get good food ,the chance to a "premier league" show every night if we want, the attractions , the vibe, the great shopping , the being treated well by everyone , the lack of kids ( we will save holidays with familys for when we start one ) , and the always being something to do . plus the fact i can sneak off and play poker when my OH has a lie down or calls it a night. or pull a stool up at a bar and have some drinks with a perfect stranger any time in a hundred different places. and know you are safe and secure.

we never even get near the pools or nightclubs but yhet are there if you want them ,
Better in my pocket than theirs :rotfl:

The only reason we had passed up the Luxor was we wanted to stay one week at the north end and 1 week at the south end.
We had already chosen to stay in the Tropicana for the first week at the south end and we were looking for a reasonably priced hotel at the other end of the strip for the second week.
I'm impressed with the Luxor prices though and may change from the Tropicana to the Luxor for the first week.

Planet hollywood don't have any rooms for the second week only the last 3 days so that's out

If you used the link I posted to check availability after the end of August, it will probably not show full availability as the link was for a specific promotion. Would be surprised if they are booked up already for Oct/Nov - worth checking direct from their website if the hotel interests you.

Thanks for that but unless they have an extremely good promo it's way out of my price range almost double what I want to pay for 1 week

However if they do offer it at 45$ per night I'll be first in the queue

For those looking for promotions in November, check here.

There are a few that go out that far (I know there are a few people looking for that period). Just checked out of curiosity for us as we're going in November and while our rooms are already booked, always like to keep an eye out...and was surprised to see several listed. Deals for Excalibur (2), Luxor (4), MGM and Mirage.

Hi, I am off to Vegas on Saturday for a week, can't wait. Its the second time I have been. Stayed at the Venetian first time, Mirage this time. Going to try the $20 dollar trick at reception, a bit nervous but I don't suppose it can do any harm. Just a quick question, can anyone tell me if it possible to get upgrades on the flights? and if so how do I go about it. Thanks for any help received. T.

    What is the $20 trick?
