I assume that wdyw means abuse on the fatwallet thread - if the OP asked about deals in a forum specifically for posting deals, it can get ugly. :)

sorry I wasn't aware I'd done anything wrong.
    :hello: LORRAINE :hello:
  • Hi all i'm off to LAs Vegas (again!) on Thursday. We are staying off fremont street in the Golden Nugget, a gorgeous(but arn't they all!) hotel but quite a bit cheaper due to it being on Freemont Street not the strip. Buses are regular, dirt cheap and clean.
Got a fantastic deal on the hotel with most nights only working out $69 per room per night! Flight was free bar taxes as paid for with our airmiles!
If you go but only stay on the strip you MUST tack a slight detore and visit Fremont Street you will not be disappointed
MFW - We've only gone and blooming done it!

Phew, almost left it too late to book, but it did throw up a few more pointers to take into account. With the Airtours and Mytravel site allowing you to book 4, 7, 10, 11, 14 or 21 day trips you can get to the point where there appears to be loads of seats left but in reality thats only for the outward bound trip. Anyway, after thinking we had missed out on our intended dates I thought I'd give Mytravel a call anyway and see what they could do because messing around with the flights I was able to see there was still places free on the flight going out and on the inward flight (even though the website would now no longer present that as an option to me).

Anyway, after a chat with a lovely sales rep I found out that the package actually appears in three different brochures and there is a 99% chance that the prices you are looking at on the website are from their sun brochure. If they are shown as sold out there then there is still a good chance that seats/places are still available on one of the other two. True enough she was able to book us up for the same price as we had seen online but under some fancy package name rather than the sun deals.

So flights are booked, car is sorted, only got to decide now which two hotels we are going to use out of the 7 booked so far!

Ha! That has to be a record. I love it. :) Such a nice way to fuel the anticipation when you can book multiple hotels and sort it out later. Congrats on the flight booking!

You can insert it using the little mountain icon (which is to insert a picture) right above where we type.

I do hope she's found safe and sound very soon.

    Hi,
I am due to go to San Francisco at the end of September for 2 weeks and managed to book flights with BMI from Manchester via Chicago for £350 inc. Taxes which I was pretty happy with until I read the posts on here about buying miles with Virgin! Oh, well, maybe next time!

This is my third trip to San Francisco as I have a friend who lives there but she is coming back to the UK at the end of the year. This means I need to make the most of my visit, hence the reason for this post.

I have always wanted to go to Las Vegas just for the spectacle etc. but I wondered if those with experience would recommend it for a lone female traveller? My friend won’t be able to take time off midweek so it might be a good time for me to visit.

If I do go I would like to do a helicopter trip to the Grand Canyon, I will assume that those who have been will say that it is definitely worth doing, please correct me if this is not the case.

In light of the above and considering that I am a complete Las Vegas novice are there any hotels that would be recommended more than others? also bearing in mind that I wont have a car so I am assuming that a hotel on the strip would be the best?

Sorry if this is just rehashing previous posts but I have picked up a lot of info from what I have followed so far.

    Thanks for any help.
