The tap water in Vegas is probably safer than some parts of the UK.
Check your ac adaptor for your laptop they are usually 110-230v so all you need is a us-uk adaptor for the mains plug, a couple of quid from uk airport shops.
The cheapest good brand name booze is from the gift shop at the South Point Hotel I dont know why people muck about with duty free when it is so cheap there.

the offers tend to start appearing 12- 13 weeks out, but you should keep regualar tabs from now onwards . only takes a few mins each day.

You can drink the water in Vegas, but it may upset your tum due to the different mineral content.

You can buy bottled water for only $1 for a liter bottle at the ABC Stores in the Miracle Mile or the Fashion Show malls.

I think a litre of Smirnoff was £6-7 at McCarran. However, if you have a connecting flight once you get back to Gatwick I wouldn't bother as we had a bottle confiscated at Manchester when we went through security for our Aberdeen flight despite never leaving a secure area.

Personally I would book now at a rate you're happy with. You can always cancel it if you find a better deal nearer the time or if it's with the same hotel, just call them and ask for the new rate and they will adjust it for you.

OK, I'm admitting defeat here, I've been looking for about four hours now and seem to be going round in circles. Can anyone suggest a site for a short break in LV going on or after Nov 23 for 3 to 6 days. We have to be back for the following Friday (30th).
Any recommendations for sites to look at ?

    Thanks,

    Thanks,

As a starting point, you could look at city breaks at www.travelocity.co.uk - or just do a hotel+flights search on expedia.co.uk - but would strongly suggest also checking airfare and hotels separately once you have an idea of the package prices as in most cases you can do better...also, if we knew what departure airport you were looking for it might narrow it down a bit...direct Virgin flights from LGW are quite expensive for that period...would assume the same for BMI...so flying indirect may be your only option unless you have a lot to spend on getting there.

Briefly, looks like you could get indirect flights from London on NWA for about £330 each...the packages I saw in looking quickly were about £450-£550 up to mid-range hotels (also flying NWA)...so assuming 2 of you, that would leave about $480-$880 for hotels from the package price for 5 nights...would be surprised if you couldn't do better booking flights and hotels separate.
Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?

Humm, OK. We're in Bristol. I can get the kids to drop us at most London airports, as far as I could see there nothing leaving from any sw location (or if it is it costs a packet). I can't see Manchester being an option as most flights I could find are early morning added to the 3 hour checkin, makes getting there a bit iffy, knowing how reliable the train are ...
