of course there is the question of what to do when 2008 rolls around as well.
my idea is to finish this thread while somehow archieving it , and starting a new 2008 thread ,
i don,t know but do threads with no activity get deleted after a certain amount of time.??? cause it would be shame to lose all this . i also had kinda of planned for my trip report of my december vist to tie this thread off nicely.Better in my pocket than theirs :rotfl:0 -
Are there any sites i can sign up to to get special room rates for the hotels. i am not going til march or april. I think it must be too early for any promotions. also if book my flight now os soon. am i wize not to also book my hotel ?0

I am going in march and have had my flights booked since april.
I havent booked hotel yet.
I will keep an eye on all the relevant sites between now and about jan for deals although best time will prob be about dec.
Trets often posts latest deals on here, from fatwallet, lasvegaspromotions and lasvegastalk etc. travelzoo are another place to look and it cant hurt to sign up to the email service from any of the Vegas hotels.0 -
agreed you should be looking at your flights now , regular checks of your dates on the BMI and Virgin websites can pay dividends. also check out the money and miles method as described in post #500.
anything direct for about £300 should be seriously conisdered if you want the security of a early booking. if not My travel lates .
as for hotel book what you like as long they have the usual refund policys that most of the offers here and on the other sites do. a post office credit card through Quidco is a good idea for this.
talking of which

My first ever post on this fantastic site, cant believe I’ve only just found it.
I going to Las Vegas on the 13 Sept for 5 nights, cant wait!!! I’ve been doing my research on this site and I think im going to go for the Flamingo Hotel – mainly because of the pool, looks amazing. I’ve search previous pages and saw someone replying to realdeals question, saying that the flamingo is available for around £70 for 4nights.
I have check these veagas promotion sites and the best I have been quoted was around £130 each( 3 people in one room, 13 – 17 Sept).
Does anyone know if there are any promotions during the dates I’ll be there or will the quote I got be the best I’ll get?
I look forward to your response, I love this site!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
i'm going on the 13th two, but for 13 nights. My boyfriend moved to Las Vegas around a month ago! Can't wait!
Does anyone have a suggestion of where is best to sit on the Virgin Atlantic flight? I'm trying to decide if I want to be off first (ish) to get through immigration quicker or possibly be sat alone (probably unlikely) Any recommendations?
Thanks)

as close to Premium Economy as possible i.e front of plane.
they give their high paying customers last on first off priority and hold everyone in cattle class till they have disembarked. they only used only one door last time , and it was the door on the left as you sit on the plane. they did the same on the plane we came back on when it arrived at Mccarren see below
you can prebook all seats except bulhead and exit way seats . i recommend ailse for sure over middle or window. check www.seatguru.com if you like but the only good seats in cattle class are the where the plane narrows at the back from 3 to 2 seats on the window side. this will mean first on last off.
you can book your seats online i believeBetter in my pocket than theirs :rotfl:0 -

You can book your seats online if you book through Virgin's site but if she's just booking now (or booked previously but didn't request seats), they may have cut it off already for a departure on the 13th (assuming this month)...those pairs at the back go pretty early...we usually get a pair but normally book 10-11 months in advance and in some cases they're already gone. I agree that those are the best seats in economy, though you do lose out on getting off the plane last and being at the back of the immigration queue...still, for relative comfort for 10-11 hours, worth it to us.
To be honest, if seats have not already been requested and if the airline has closed seat requests now...best to get to the airport early...otherwise, likely to be stuck in the middle of the 4 seat rows in the middle of the plane.Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?0
