Monte Carlo is surrounded by construction right now and will be for some time...so I would steer clear of it...I would say that the two are otherwise reasonably comparable based on what I know of them (have never stayed at either but have been to the casinos and have read reviews of the hotels), though MC has a slightly better location to me...but Luxor is connected to 2 other casinos with 3 more accessible without your feet touching the street-level pavement...also, changes are in store for Luxor to get away from the Egyptian theme...how they are going to work around the fact that the main building is a pyramid - I have no idea.Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?0 -
$110 seems like a complete steal for The Hotel...but Paris' location is better IMHO.
I can't remember if you are already splitting your trip to different hotels, but if not, maybe that would be an option?
If it were me I can't quite figure out what I would do either.I don't spend a lot of time in the room and posh rooms are somewhat wasted on me for more than a one night treat now and again...and I prefer centre strip...but that price is just really great.
What was the rate for Paris again?
we are spliting the trip already our first 4 nights (Thu, Fri, Sat Sun) are booked with the Mirage offer posted months ago. getting $75, $113, $113 and $75 for the four nights. i doubt very much any offer is going come along to make me cancel this.
our last 3 nights ( Mon, Tues , Wed) is where the choice lies. Paris booking is $89 p/n .
we want the location and fun of Paris ( the rooms are supposed to be pretty nice as well) , but we really like Mandalay bay and a nice room is important to us. we might not get chance to Sample "The Hotel " at such a price again. Paris regualrly hovers around the $100 mark (espically on future proposed dates) so it could be done on any future trips. .
It's a real coin flip at the moment....:undecided :undecided . at least we have a few months to make our minds up.

Thanks for the help everyone. Flights are booked now, just the hotel to go
quick question: For all online transactions is the initial payment only the deposit, then the rest on arrival/checkout?0 -

Not all, but most...so long as you are booking through the hotel's own website and not a 3rd party like expedia, etc...in most cases they take the first night as a deposit and it is refundable if you cancel so long as you do so prior to 48/72 hours before the booking - it varies from property to property...then the balance is paid at check-out (and if you gamble at all, get a players club card as this can earn you comps/credit toward your room or food, etc.)
In a very few cases a promotion will be non-cancellable...and in even fewer it will require full payment at the time of booking but this is quite rare - best to read the fine print before booking just to be sure.Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?0 -
Virgin Atlantic sale alert program popped up with some offers in Todays Mail on Sunday (26th august 2007)
might be worth checking out if your looking into a Virgin Flight. can someone post the details if they get this paper . :beer:Better in my pocket than theirs :rotfl:0 -
Trets..I had a similar dilema earlier this year..Mandalay bay booked at $80 a night or Paris for $99 ( not the same as it wasnt the HOTEL).
Having stayed at Mandalay before, I knew the standard rooms are great, but that I may get an airport view. As you know there is no better pool in Vegas.
I decided on Paris purely on location and the fact that Ballys casino is easily accesible through internal walkway.
IF the choice was, as yours is, between Hotel and Paris it would have been a tougher choice.0 -

Hi folks,
Just looking to pick your brains again.
Have booked 5 nights 24-29th Sept at the Signature MGM as part of our honeymoon then we head to the Grand Canyon for a night. We then come back to Vegas on the 30th for our last night before heading home
I was looking to spend a little more and end our honeymoon in style (without going too daft). Have been looking at the Venetian deals and stuck between
1) Venezia Concierge Medici Suite for $299
or
2) Venetian Rialto View for $309
The Rialto is much bigger suite but doesn't list the same extras that the Medici Suite has (access to private pools etc)
Has anyone stayed in either of these & able to recommend one over the other?
Thanks in advance for your help.
Regards,
Craig.0
