Good luck trets! That's a pretty big job...hats off to you for giving it a go!
I think my fear would be that things seem to change every 37 seconds in Vegas so keeping it updated might be a bit difficult if you make too many specific references and it may end up being a pain to keep current...but sounds like a great idea overall...would be nice if you can sort of boil these pages down to something a bit more approachable - this thread probably scares some people off just because it's so long (and people like me are so long-winded!)...and then those folks probably go and book with Virgin Holidays, etc. and get ripped off.
yeah i know what you mean, Vegas moves faster than pretty any where else. but certain things stay constant . for example History, tipping, general strip locations , gambling, and general eating and show advice .
there is of course far to much to cram even into 2 threads , hence the Las Vegas Advisor ect.
lets see how my writing gets on first. it may end up beating me.What would be the best time to book for a trip to Vegas in December? Still saving at the moment but may be able to afford it at the end of the month. Just wondering if it's advisable to wait until nearer the time, or get in early. What normally happens with xmas pricing?
the first weekend of December will have it's down sides. i,e National rodeo Finals in town and Ricky Hatton fighting.
week 2 and 3 ( when i,m going) should be quitest and cheapest.
Xmas week will be a lot more expensive with New Years the most expensive of all.
we payed £292 with BMI but if that fare will roll around again who knows.
a My travel late or waiting for a upcoming Virgin sale might prove fruitful. but like we have said get a rough idea of price you are happy with and if you see it book it and don,t look back to see of you could have got it lower.Better in my pocket than theirs :rotfl:0 -
Mytravel prices are looking good for sept, I am going to have to give the 11 day hol on the 12th a miss, covering 2 w/ends in Vegas and getting back on a monday is not good. I didn't originally notice the 10 day trips on the 2nd and 9th sept. They might have just appeared, the cost of the 10 day on the 2nd is £350ish or less and £400ish on the 9th. If the price comes down to £350 ish for 10 days on the 9th I'm off to Vegas.0

I don't have any personal experience flying this route but I did do a web search when the first post about this came up and there are people who have complained about this very thing before...but it doesn't seem like every review mentions it - so maybe they stop on some flights and not others?
II had a quick look at the MyTravel site...appears that they only fly from Glasgow on Wednesdays...from Manchester on Wednesday and Sunday - so maybe that's why some reviews don't mention the stop - if the Sunday flights don't stop in Glasgow? Also, looks like Glasgow flights only during the summer months...so again, may be why some reviews don't mention it...if the stop is only Wednesdays during the summer months?
If it were me, I would call or email to ask if the flight would be stopping in Glasgow so you know what to expect.Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?0 -
Finally Booked flights to Las Vegas(13th Sept - 18th Sept) - cant wait!!!!!!
This thread is amazing and full of information. Just a quick question what is the best way to book hotel accommodation?
There’s three of us to be sharing the one room and we were looking at the New York New York hotel, Treasure Island or anywhere near these hotels.
I managed to get a quote for £147 each for New York New York, is this a good price for a standard room?0 -

That doesn't sound like a bad rate for NYNY...but maybe check here:

Upgraded room and some extras - looks like it comes in slightly more than your quote...may not be worth it but worth looking at...have read many times that the standard rooms are quite small and with 3 people, might be nice to have a larger room.
And just to check that you know that NYNY and TI are pretty far away from each other? Is there a reason that you are looking at those two? Might help to know what drew you to those in giving an idea of others to consider.

Surely this is fraud...or something very close to it?
We don't fly from Manchester but if we did, and if we booked 'direct' flights with MyTravel and that flight stopped to pick up passengers in Glasgow? Oh, there would be air rage.
That's just shocking...surely, SURELY they cannot advertise the flights as direct if they aren't? I suppose there may be a loophole if the Manchester passengers don't have to deboard the plane so it's 'direct' in the sense that you get on in Manchester and get off in Vegas...but egad, I can't believe they can do this without getting in a load of crap.
I'm really really wound up over something that is unlikely to ever have even the smallest impact on me...just thinking of all those folks with certain expectations that just weren't met at all...what a terrible way to start your holiday! And how many would have gone with BMI had they known?
Now I have to ask - what was the reaction from the passengers like on your flight? I'm sure a lot of people kept themselves in check not wanting to risk being thrown off the plane...but I have to think that people went absolutely insane.
Hi Ferf,
I know - I was amazed at the situation that I found myself in. Ours was a Sunday morning flight on July 1st - from Manchester to Vegas VIA GLASGOW. No where on either the My Travel webiste OR the Airtours website is this stated. Even my invoice hid the fact.
It was only AFTER I'd booked the flight that the travel agent advised that we stopped "on the tarmac & didnt disembark" at Glasgow. I was shocked and disappointed but had to agree really as I had already given my credit card details and it was the cheapest option.
The passengers reaction on the flight was fine for the people who have flown My Travel before and expected it, but the people who hadnt were up in arms really. On the flight home it was worse, cos whilst checking in we were advised that the plane would stop in Glasgow again and then carry on to Manchester.
Half way through the flight the captain announced that we would, in fact be going to Manchester and then on to Glasgow!! It was a joke really. BUT, again, it was my cheapest option to Vegas, so I took it.
I had seen time after time My Travel being recommended as a "direct" flight on this website, so thought I would let everyone know that it may not be the case..... ASK MY TRAVEL THE QUESTION BEFORE YOU FLY.....:hello:My name is Steff and I am a Vegas Addict :j0 -

Hi again - just seen your other post - above. Just to confirm - our flight was out of Manchester on the Sunday and we stopped at Glasgow during our outward journey. I made friends with some Scottish people on our flight and they showed me their invoice from My Travel - again, it said nothing about their return journey being Vegas - Manchester - Glasgow -which it was.
I think you are right about it not being every flight BUT its certainly a shock when you turn up and find it effects you! Oh well - I never seem to have any luck with dates for BMI, so its still the best option.....:hello:My name is Steff and I am a Vegas Addict :j0
