Has anyone seen 'O' at Bellagio? Any tips on booking or seating? I have checked the site via the Players Club they are offering me 'wet seats', the mind boggles!!

Don't bother with the most expensive seats - i'm going back in November and have the front row of the second band of seating. To be honest most places are pretty good but if you buy wet seats I found they were so near the stage that you couldn't quite take everything in.

Yes i'm a Vegas virgin. i'll be going with my GF and plan on proposing there. deciding whether to do it via a Gondala ride/tour in the region, which does a message in a bottle type affair or whilst flying over the Grand Canyon.
Anyway i might be able to stretch to 10 days but was interested in LA as i could pop into the Universal Studio's and jump on the Back to the Future ride before it closes down... if it hasn't already done so! Not sure what else there is to do in LA but Vegas is definitely my priority.

I've done Grand Canyon via helicopter and landed in the Canyon for breakfast. The helicopter seats 6 people and tbh, it's a bit cosy if you catch my drift! Personally, the Gondola's would be my choice but I like romantic stuff. There are indoor and outdoor ones so you have a couple of options if you decide on this.

Oh oh - the Back to the future ride closes on 3rd Sept. There's even a counter on the website counting it down - looks like you're out of luck. Sowwy.

I got tickets for Mystere for $50 (a blooming great price) using a link posted on this thread, let me see if I can find it and if it's still runnning. Was an absolute steal! And I'm in the 2nd row!

Here's the link c/o ferf - "O" isn't on here but I've rarely seen "O" at any kind of discount. There's Mystere, KA and Zumanity still available. It really is a fantastic price.

If i only have a week holiday would you lot recommend spending the whole week in Vegas or could it possibly be split with an initial 2/3 day stop in LA?

Also anyone know of any cheap flights to Vegas for October 3rd?

I do agree with mookybargirl that everyone is different...but for us, our first 2 trips to Vegas were as the second part of a week's holiday and we pretty much didn't sleep and felt like we were so overwhelmed with things to do that we couldn't get it all done and ended up completely exhausted. Since then, we've been 5 times for 7-8 nights each trip and STILL we haven't seen some of the things on the list for our first trip...we still don't sleep much, but we feel like we have a much more relaxed holiday.

We do gamble a fair bit though - so a lot of our time is eaten up that way...for non-gamblers, they might manage their time more effectively. ;)

If you do go to LA and you like movies and TV you MUST do this:

It was the best thing we did in LA - was absolutely fantastic and for $45 for 2+ hours was a really great deal.

I agree with Kezza25 - don't get the wet seats...you really want to be able to see everything that's going on...most if not all Cirque shows are better viewed from farther back. We had first row of the balcony and the seats were great for seeing the show - though we could see a bit more of the machinery for the stage than floor seats could.

If you have not already decided this - go for the earlier show...we went to the 10pm show and while we loved it (it's my favorite Vegas show so far) it was so hard to stay awake as jetlagged as we were!

If you book through their website consider choosing the 'will call' option for your tickets (where you pick up at the box office with the credit card you used for booking and photo ID) and not the e-ticket option...if you need to cancel for some reason, it's a lot easier to cancel will call tickets as they have not been issued...e-tickets have - so a lot more faffing around should you find yourself needing to cancel. This tip courtesy of a recent LVTalk thread. :)

Hi - hope the quote (above) comes out ok. I just thought I would share my insight into two things:-
Secondly - Im not sure if everyone on this site knows this, BUT the My Travel "direct" flights to Vegas from Manchester STOP at GLASGOW and pick up!!! YET they are sold as direct flights - this is not the case out of manchester.... They DO NOT mention this when you book, nor does it appear on your invoice... I found this out the hard way AFTER I'd paid and didnt enjoy being sat on the tarmac in Scotland for 2.5 hours waiting for the glasgow passengers to board!!!!

On the way back the Glasgow passengers had to wait for the Manchester people to get off etc. AGAIN, THEY DO NOT TELL YOU THIS AND DO THEIR BEST TO HIDE THIS FACT!...

That said, they are still the cheapest out of Manchester to Vegas - I have never found a BMI direct flight available as yet..... And, also, I would most certainly put up with it again to get to my favourite place in the world!!

    Hope this info helps someone.
    Steff

    Hi there

Just to add my experience of MyTravel Manchester-Vegas flight. I have done this route twice (Oct 05 & Apr/May 07) both of these flights were direct (as described). I would be well miffed to have had to touch down at Glasgow en-route, esp. on the return leg after a 10hr journey + jet lag. My only guess is that these (MAN & GLA) flights were undersubscribed and so they 'doubled up' - either way its bang out of order. SHAME ON YOU MYTRAVEL!!!
  • Thanks for all the replies.

Is it best to pre-book by telephone or internet? I don't want the tickets until 23rd September.

The sites I have visited don't appear to be very flexible with the choice of seats.

If you have looked at the official site here:

    http://bellagio.admission.com/cgi/guide.cgi?l=EN&C=US

And aren't happy with the seats available, I would try to call and see if they can do better...some people have had better luck calling...others have had the same seats offered - can't hurt to try.

personally speaking a week is not nearly long enough in Vegas. your 1 st night you will probably be tired out from the flight to get up to wild things as well.

if your asking "can i find things to fill a whole week in Vegas" ...most definatly YES !!!

october 3rd flights . There is a MY TRAVEL flight leaving on the 3rd. however the website seems mixed up on this date ( for 7 nights) as the price actually increases when you click get quote ( it usually decreases when you do this) . this might require a phone call to them.

anyhow £407 is quoted as lowest 7 day price.
    £412 fo 11 nights

however up it too 14 nights and a good looking £368 is available.( after removing in flight meal)
all these prices seem okayish for 2 months out, so there may be futher downward movement ..but thats a risk you will have to calculate for yourself.

Possible price saving may = the flight selling out before you get on it.
or take a price your happy to pay may = loss of money saving ( but your still on the plane to Vegas)

there is no right or wrong answer. whatever you do because it feels the best course of action . but if you opt to wait in the hope of saving money i would be making everyday checks and following "Wydw" tips on My travel prices and over the weekend bookings.

so My travel flights for August are around £400 - £450 for all lengths of stay i doubt we will see much movement in these

Sept seem average £420 at the moment for 7 nights yet under £350 for 14. the september dates are worth monitoring ( might a useful pointer for Oct allday)

Bmi are sky high for Oct ( hope this means they don,t have trouble selling seats cause thier flights are so nice :D )

other option try the Money and Miles thing at Virgin out of Gatwick ( see post #500 of this thread) . i would love to get a price for you but i have to save my opening of a account and purchasing miles for when i may need it,,,sorry:o

looks like Harrahs Chain have released some promotions. sept prices seem the most attractive on all offers.
