Only 20 days till I'm off - woo hoo.
Now for the money saving stuff. Coupons, coupons, coupons. Any suggestions except picking up magazines and flyers from everywhere?
Can you buy little booklets? Where from and are they worth the money?Love MSE, Las Vegas and chocolate!0 -

You can buy the American Casino Guide on amazon.co.uk - list of coupons here to see if it's worth it...probably about £9 plus shipping or so.

A lot are off strip so if you won't have a car may not be worth it.
More expensive is the Pocketbook of Values from Las Vegas Advisor - it's $37 for an online membership and when we have ordered it they have posted to us in the UK pretty quickly...you can also pick up at their office near Rio.
List of coupons here:

Hard to say if they are worth the money - we normally get the ACG but we always have a car.
If you do a google search for 'las vegas coupons' there are loads and loads of them out there...may be a bit of sifting through though to find ones that you will use.
If you will be shopping may be worth printing out some of these 'shopping passports':
http://www.destinationcoupons.com/Nevada/Las_Vegas/Shopping.asp - most of the main malls have some sort of freebie coupon book if you have the voucher...may be crap, but hey, free.
I am very jealous of your trip! My boss goes next Thursday and I am trying not to be too jealous as I have been 7 times since he last went.Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?0 -
That doesn't sound like a bad rate for NYNY...but maybe check here:
https://reservations.mgmmirage.com/bookingengine.aspx?pid=010&host=promo&code=INT262&kbid=374305
Upgraded room and some extras - looks like it comes in slightly more than your quote...may not be worth it but worth looking at...have read many times that the standard rooms are quite small and with 3 people, might be nice to have a larger room.
And just to check that you know that NYNY and TI are pretty far away from each other? Is there a reason that you are looking at those two? Might help to know what drew you to those in giving an idea of others to consider.
be careful what upgrade you go for at NYNY as one of the upgrade rooms is actually a smaller than a standard room ( but is much better kitted out). i think its to recreate a vibe of how geniue NY people live .
price your quoting sounds okay but you should check out the last 2 offers i posted and see what they throw upBetter in my pocket than theirs :rotfl:0 -
I just wanted to take the time to register to thank
Ferf1223, Trets77, and Mookybargirl
for all their help on this thread. the frequent, spot on information has been really helpful in planning my trip to Las Vegas. i just used one of the sites that mookybargirl suggested (www.vegas-promotions.com) to book a great deal at the TI for only $89 a night for four nights! i'm definitely happy, and i owe much of it to you three...so, on behalf of all of us coming to this board for las vegas advice, many thanks to you three!! (and, of course to the countless others i'm forgetting) Cheers! :beer:0 -
Thanks altec, although trets and ferf deserve all of the credit
I'm what's considered a part timer :rotfl:
Don't forget if you're taking out a credit card to use abroad, the Post Office card can be applied for via quidco with £20.50 cashback and there's no charge for using the card abroad. You got to love free money!Love MSE, Las Vegas and chocolate!0 -
If i only have a week holiday would you lot recommend spending the whole week in Vegas or could it possibly be split with an initial 2/3 day stop in LA?
Also anyone know of any cheap flights to Vegas for October 3rd?0 -
Hi allday, trets will be along soon, he's the god on flights.
If it was me going for a week, I'd stay in vegas but everyone is different. I'm going in a couple of weeks for 10 days and will be spending all of my time in vegas. Have you been before? Some people just like a few days and then on to something else.
I would say however, if you do go to 2 places, leave vegas to last. It's easier on the budget!Love MSE, Las Vegas and chocolate!0 -
it may be in this thread already but here is a website that I found very very useful when I was a Vegas newbie. http://www.cheapovegas.com/index.php0

Yes i'm a Vegas virgin. i'll be going with my GF and plan on proposing there. deciding whether to do it via a Gondala ride/tour in the region, which does a message in a bottle type affair or whilst flying over the Grand Canyon.
Anyway i might be able to stretch to 10 days but was interested in LA as i could pop into the Universal Studio's and jump on the Back to the Future ride before it closes down... if it hasn't already done so! Not sure what else there is to do in LA but Vegas is definitely my priority.0
