Excalibur with Taxes is coming out at $931.50

I may go for that one as it's quite a bit less than Luxor.

Anyone know if the pool area refurbishment at Excalibur is finished yet

The other one to consider perhaps is Imperial Palace...rates on their website are $764 for their standard room and so assuming tax at 9% would be $832...but they do have the Casino Gold offer you have to call to check...and since the dates are over Halloween it may not be available, but may be worth checking. IP gets mixed reviews, but a lot of people maintain that it's a decent enough place given the location and room rates. I haven't stayed there myself so I can't give a personal opinon.

It is right next door to Flamingo though...so you could either look at it as an easy move between the two, or too close to each other to want to make a move...at least Excalibur is on a different part of the strip...some (probably including me) would say that if you are going to move maybe check out a different area rather than move next door, but it is cheaper than Excalibur and a really good location.

Someone suggested ringing the hotel reservations dept to try and get a better rate, i tried this with the Venetian but they wouldnt budge. The rates were the same as the wewbsite! :(

Sometimes they are more if you call...many offer a web booking discount of $5 or $10/night (as they don't have to pay anyone to take the reservation). Can't hurt to try. If you have history with the casino and have a players card then it's really worth a shot.

cannot i@m afraid, unless you go for either Circus Circus , Strat or Riviera. i.d book the Tropicana at least you can cancel that one if something better comes along unlike the Luxor offer.

either way you might not get the chance to stay at either how they currently are again . Tropicana has been on Dynamite row for ages

and now the Luxor will be getting the T .I treatment it seems.

Well I rang last night and they wont match the deal as that price is based on 2 sharing not 3 in a room.....plus they say all the rooms allocated to Southwest have now been filled.
Nevermind it was worth a try.
I may go for the Excalibur or the Trop. Excalibur is coming out at $931.50 with their Widescreen TV promo....at least if I book either of those I don't have to pay in full and I'll be able to cancel if something better comes along

I'm now starting to think about what we'd like to do when we go to Vegas (in 30 days). I'm getting really excited now :

    Here's a few things we missed last time that are on our list so far;
    > Bellagio Conservatory
    > Rio hotel to see the FREE show
    > The thundershow storm at PH
    > Dinner at the top of Strat or in Paris in the tower.
    > Coyote Ugly bar in NYNY

Can you help with more suggestions?
Love MSE, Las Vegas and chocolate!
