Hi - I'm looking for 5 nights from 28 Dec to 2 Jan. Is there anything under $1600 for a twin-bed room that you could recommend?

I'd stayed at Luxor 5 years ago, but the walk was a bit far.

I'd stayed at Luxor 5 years ago, but the walk was a bit far.

Edited as I missed the 5 nights bit so answered my own question.

Bally's, Harrahs, Flamingo and Paris all come in under that amount...all are centre strip so a much better location (in my opinion). Have stayed at Bally's several times and really like it...Harrahs rooms are quite small but nice enough...Paris rooms are said to be very nice and Flamingo standard rooms would be decent enough but even the upgraded GO rooms are below $1600 for that period.

Plenty of options, really...and that's just checking www.harrahs.com

Would suggest checking www.travelaxe.com with your dates to get an idea what rates are being quoted and then pick a hotel you like the look of and check direct with the hotel - but I don't think that you should have any problem at all doing quite a bit better than $1600 for those nights.

Thanks ferf - I suppose the main thing I wanted to ask is if any of those hotels (in your experience) might launch offers for the new year period soon. Unlikely?

It's unlikely you will find much as your dates cover the busiest time of the year...but if you book directly with the hotel you will usually have the ability to cancel and rebook if a better deal comes along later.

you may want to check here for Harrah's Happy Holidays to Me specials Trets posted originally:

    https://www.harrahs.com/AvailabilityCalendar.do?propCode=BLV&packageCode=IXMSB&numAdults=1&numChildren=0&startingMonth=2007-11-01
you can change the hotel using the drop down on the right hand side...looks like your last night might be available with this package, but overall may not be less than booking on the main reservations page.

Most of the 'deals' I have seen covering the New Year's Eve period are more ones that include extras than ones that reduce the price of the room.

I know how you feel. As for the signature issue, I think it's because the boards are set not to allow photos as signatures.

Congrats! It does sometimes seem like a lot of work hunting down the good deals, but there's a certain satisfaction in knowing you got the best deal you could. :)

Right I'm really pi**ed off now
Tried to book a really great deal with Southwest airlines for the first 4 nights of our stay
    http://southwest.com/hotfares/hotfares_hotels.html

They wont let me book it unless I have a credit card registered to a US address
    How pants is that???
Bum it's back to the drawing board now and it was such a good price to
Gold coast 4 days for only $290 or Orleans for $340

Anyone know where I can get a good deal on the Orleans
