AMAZING NEW OFFER 3 DAYS ONLY ENDS MIDNIGHT 1ST NOV!
hi javuvu, I have just looked at this offer and it's saying 3 months free and free modem so if I wanted to go on the 1mb offer exactly what would it cost and how do you get the free 3 months ? as it shows ;-
3 months @ £31.00: £93
Quarterly membership: £5
*One-off connection: £50
so that to me means £148.00 for the 3 months £49.33 per month so that's not cheap what have I done wrong
thanksa please & thank you is all it takes :wave:0 -
Can anybody recommend and independent site where I can compare broadband suppliers?
For my sins I'm on Aol dial-up and want out. I need unlimited downloads (none of this 1Gb/2Gb rubbish) & hopefully 10x faster than dial-up

on a 1MB line the deal works out as £148 for 'six months' inc connection and a £75 BT modem and unlimited bandwidth.
This is a fabulous deal especially if you migrate to another isp after 6 months, read my thread for examples.
hope this helps.

I need to set up my Dad with broad band connection.
He will be a low usage user, as its mainly for news etc.
If goes with metronet it will cost him connection fee £59.73, plus aroudn £25 for modem and £11.75/mth
Total cost for 1 yr: £225.73 i.e. about £18.80/mth
Does anyone know of a company that has just as good service with connection and hardware included for less than this amount. He is not bothered about download limits.0 -
if you opt for one of the current e7even deals its very good value. For example if you go for the 12mth contract you actually get 15 months for just £250 which inc a decent £75 BT modem (which u could flog if wanted). And you wouldnt have to worry about the small 200mb metronet bandwidth allowance as it unlimited.
£250 / 15 = 16.66 per month (inc free modem and unlimited bandwidth)
as you can see this is a lot cheaper than the deal you were looking at.
See my thread for details, if your interested be quick because this latest offer is on for just 3 days and ends on monday.
cheers

Hi, I am on a 24/7 with Virgin but have just been hit by a £19.50 premium rate dialled number I knew nothing about, will Broadband stop these numbers being dialled?
With Broadband you're not connected via your 56k modem, so you can pull the plug on that and no-one is going to be able to dial anything through your PC.Life should be a little nuts; otherwise it's just a bunch of Thursdays strung together.0 -
Lots of messages about Metronet, and I agree that they are good, BUT, a word of caution.
They have a policy of suspending your account if you show signs of spamming etc, this happened to me because I had got a virus of some sort. I don't have a problem with that, and can totally understand their point of view, BUT....
This happened on a Friday night, and the virus was dealt with quite quickly. No support at Metronet over the weekend meant that I couldn't get back on line until mid morning on Monday.Life should be a little nuts; otherwise it's just a bunch of Thursdays strung together.0 -
